Fixed another leak in the AC system. The evaporator core was gone. It was evident when I opened it last time but my brain failed to actually recognize and do something about it.
For good measure replaced the thermistor sensor and expansion valve. I do not want any excuse for it to be opened again anytime soon.
Evap comes with all new o-rings that exist after the firewall. So now the whole system has new o-rings.
Factory install position for sensor.
Plus point for genuine parts is that it comes with all needed accessories. Expansion valve included the insulation tape and other air seals.
Torque spec for these bolts 2.4 lb.ft - 3.3 Nm.
New air seals installed.
This pipe was also replaced. It had a couple of cracks in it. I think it happened when punjab car ac removed the compressor for bearing fitting as I saw the pipe being bent back. But its old and the rubber does seem a bit brittle compared with new.
All line bolts torqued to 7.2 lb.ft - 9.8 Nm.
Drained compressor oil, only 5ml came out . Oil looked clean and hopefully I have at least delayed any black death scenario for it. Compressor mounting bolts torque spec, 16 lb.ft - 22 Nm.
Got Sanden sp-10 oil needed for this system from punjab car ac. Thank you to member shabbir.1 for some guidance.
Followed the above recommended honda guideline when replacing parts, hopefully I got it right:
Added:
35ml for evap
30ml for 3 lines replaced
5ml for what came out of compressor
25x2 ml for 2 leaks
25ml for condenser. Now honda gateway do not sell compressor oil nor do they use it. So when the condensor was replace years ago they wouldnt have added any. I wonder if honda fort do it right.
80211-TG0-T01 Evaporator (th). Rs27200
80213-TF0-G01 Expansion valve (th). Rs4610
80560-TA0-A01 Thermistor (jp). Rs2170
80311-TM2-K21 Suction hose (pk). Rs2890
Sanden sp-10 250ml. Rs1750
AC charged at honda gateway. Prices have changed, now its rs5200 for refill. However they charged me the old rate of rs4640. Still its cheaper than punjab car ac who were asking rs7500.
The only original major part left is the compressor itself. I hope with the added oil it lasts a while longer.
