Installation of computers speakers in car?

yeah,surely you can,you will need a current converter for this purpose,should be easily available in market.

You don't even need that as computer speakers require DC source of power so no need for a convereter.

dont waste your time and money in doing that. PC speakers are for indoor use.If you use them in your car wont get the same performance. I have tried it in my sunny and could hardly hear the sound. Although the speakers (Altec Lansing) performed very good on my desk.

Computer speakers have AC source of power because they are designed to run in your homes. But they actually require DC source of power to operate. What happens here is that the normal 220V Ac is converted to lets say 20V DC internally with the help of some circuitry. You can remove the rectifier and the transformer if you want to run them on DC.

i hav tried to install Creative 2.1 in my ride. Firstly i run its woofer simply on the output of Alpine mp3 player, then i try to use its amplifier too. it sounds smooth when the engine is switched off.
and when i start the car it produces a noice both from woofer and speakers. looks like there is a veriation in the current supplied to amplifier. when i accelerate the car it becomes loud.
how can i fix it.................?
creative 2.1 require 12V A.C current with 3Amp.

youre true.....all such electronic circuits we use at home normally operate on DC internally for which a converter circuit comes built-in........

but the guy who asked question seems novice...he is using pc speakers perhaps because he either have them in spare or for fun.......but being novice he will not be able to identify the component / converter circuit and its rating.......

say his speakers are built for 6v or 24 v.....he will end up having mumbling sounds or busting ém up......

bottom line.......for him they are just like an AC sourced speakers which he should not played with......
