Inverter Type AC in Pakistan (Inverter/Non Inverter Dedicated Discussion)

Can some senior members help me with a few questions..

I have a 471 sq ft lounge downstairs on ground floor. This lounge has around 6 doors (these doors stay closed when ac is operational).

A Gree 2 ton split inverter AC is installed in the lounge.

The outside temperature where outdoor is placed in shade was 37 degrees Celcius. The vent temperature of AC after 30 mins operation at 16 degrees set temp with turbo mode off and full blower speed was 10.5 degree celcius. The turbo makes vent temperature high so i turned it off to check the vent temp.

Question 1. Is this vent temperature of 10.5 degree C and outside temp where outdoor is, is 37 degree C okay in terms of operation? this was when AC was set on 16 degree. AC indoor was showing indoor/room temperature as 28 degrees. amps being drawn were 12-13 amps. compressor at full speed.

Question 2. The ac is set at 29 (outdoor takes load of 13 amps in afternoon to bring temp down, stays at 12-13 amps for 20-30 mins as it reaches 29) then goes to 5.2-6 amps and stays at this ampere in afternoon. In night at stays around 4 amps at 29 degree set temp.

it reaches 28 degrees in about 40 imins in afternoon but keeps taking 12-13 amps until it reaches 28. I have also seen it reach 27 degree after about 1-1.5 hour usage. But again the higher the temp set the more quickly amps go down. So i have set it at 29 because otherwise it keeps taking 12-13 amps to bring it down.

Question.. Is this 2 ton ac enough or should another 2 ton split inverter be installed next to it for a 471 sq ft lounge with 6 doors to save on electricity. (doors are always closed when ac is on).?I was hoping to go to 25-26 degrees but only 1 inverter 2 ton ac seems to be small for this room and instead takes 12-13 amps while bringing temp down. What do you guys think?

Big lounge window is insulated with curtains and the sliding glass stays closed. please advise.

T3 are better, but they are only available on cool only in most brands i know of. I prefer T3 over heat and cool T1 models.

I personally do not like heaters, prefer warm clothing over heaters, so i would pick T3 cool only if i had to choose between both.

T1 inverter daytime power consumption is much higher above 40C, compared to T3 that barely show any difference in cooling or power consumption even above 45C+. For efficient cooling at upper floor, T3 is perfect.

I'd suggest you go with orient if its between kenwood t1 vs orient t1.

Kenwood is made in Pakistan. Orient is made in Pakistan. Orient is better when it comes to T1 compressors.

You are right, that's why I am confused if I should buy the new Panasonic tkf model. I have a very good experience with 2 Ton pkf model which even during June doesn't go over 4.5 amps in daytime and at night stays around 2 amps. And that's the upper floor. My bill reduced by 50% with just one AC replaced out of the two I run 24x7. The other one is Electrolux 1.5 ton regular split that consumes around 8.5 amp so I am looking forward to replacing it this season and hoping to cut down my bill further.
I believe the amp consumption reported by Panasonic and LG dual inverter is much lower than local brands and you get your money back within one season. The higher price justifies in savings. I am just skeptical that pkf being an older model probably has old tech while tkf is new technology which should probably have better algorithm when it comes to cooling.

This Kenwood does not make ACs. the Kenwood that makes ACS is only in pakistan. You will not find kenwood ac's anywhere else.

The Kenwood of which you are showing a screenshot never built ACS

Kenwood ACS are being built by RNI pakistan and thats why the logo is even different. Don't misguide people here

Lol. Neither i am the employee of kenwood nor i am promoting kenwood here. Maybe kenwood doesn't make ACs anywhere else except pakistan so does it make any difference? And as per your logic if kenwood makes ACs here then it is differet kenwood just like toyota, honda and Suzuki cars. What would you call them? Pakistani made toyota, honda or Suzuki?

Toyota invented the corolla, Honda invented the Civic, then passed on the production to Pakistan for pakistani market. Parts come from HONDA, assembled here, some parts made here by patented technology by toyota, honda japan.

Toyota Pakistan or Honda Pakistan don't go around making new cars exclusive for pakistani market lol. They dont make new parts that were never made by toyota or honda japan.

Kenwood Pakistan makes ACS (only in pakistan). No technology was ever transferred, no production was ever transferred. They have a license from kenwood UK for kitchen appliances, thats what Kenwood UK makes.

Kenwood.com makes car audio systems buddy. Kenwood never made a single AC, so the Kenwood in Pakistan is a different kenwood, a Pakistani kenwood. That is why their logo is different, that is why you'll never find an ac made by kenwood outside pakistan in any country buddy.

Kenwood AC, is made by RNI company and it is a full on 100% desi split ac with parts from china. Kenwood UK or Kenwood USA or Kenwood Japan has nothing to do with Kenwood acs. never made em and probably will never make them

that doesn't mean you come here and post a screen shot of kenwood japan giving the impression to someone that kenwood ac is a japan brand. Please visit the website first then post information or very nicely say "I don't know if its local or foreign"

I've been doing a lot of research on ACs lately, if you want to do a proper calculation lookup "Manual J AC sizing". It takes in all the variables and then provides you an estimate of Btu/h you need (12K Btu/h = 1 Ton).

For simplicity, in hottest city (Phoenix) in US they recommend 1 Ton for 400 sq-ft. To me that means you already have a good enough AC for your lounge. Few things affecting the performance of your AC could be:

1. How often are doors opened i.e. people coming in/going out?
2. How many people typically in the lounge. One person add a load of 400 Btu/h, so if you typically have 10 people in the room then factor in 4000 extra Btu/h.
3. Air leakage: Make sure that doors and Windows are properly sealed so there is no air leakage, if a door has 1/4 inch gap that opens to outside (Hot weather), that would have a severe affect on AC performance. Same with windows. For doors its easy to get rubber seals on the bottom - don't overlook sides of doors as well, so they seal properly.
4. After resolving air leakage, look at Window panes and if you can afford to get Double-pane windows, I would recommend you invest in that. There is a reason Double-pane windows are standard in west.

Thanks.. Will look into rubber seals for those gaps and also will try getting the glass on the window replaced.

The thing is I feel that room is quite big for a 2 ton split. I have an extra lg dual inverter split so was thinking of setting that up in that lounge to work along gree.

In the U.S. houses are made of wood and here there's hard concrete everywhere plus its an old house so roofs aren't insulated professionally.

Please direct me to a website of kenwood outside pakistan that has acs as its products. Im waiting. Dont make claims you cant support.

I appreciate your help bro, since I'm trying to figure out ACs for our new house and the market here is very different - each sales guy has his own opinion. I've been recommended every single brand by sales guys so far, without any justification other than "yehi behtreen hai" and almost everyone recommends Gree.

My only beef with Gree is the supposed specs, I don't doubt it cools well but I'm skeptical about the efficiency claims i.e. EER of 3.74. If it was so efficient it wouldn't be consuming more energy than your LG while maintaining temperature. Mitsubishi 2 Ton has an EER of 3.05, just like LG - much lower than Gree. Also, Mitsubishi's specs say max power consumption 2.3KW @ 24K BTU, whereas Gree says 2.5KW @ 24K BTW but still Gree is more efficient? I wouldn't be surprised if Gree's EER is overrated knowing they can get away with it in our market.

Regarding Gree vs LG, then Gree is over-cooling as per your description i.e. when you set it to 26, then the actual room temperature is 23-24? When I used a thermometer to check temperature of the room when Gree (non-inverter) AC reached the set temperature of 27, thermometer was also showing 27. Maybe your Inverter model is programmed differently.

If you go to LG cavalry store, on 1st floor there are multiple ACs on the front wall, the AC unit on the bottom, right-most is the latest one and if you look on its right side, there is a metallic specification sticker that says "Made in Korea". I might go back there tomorrow and will take a pic.
