I told you it doesn't say made in korea or china just says made by LG electronics.

These units came from abid market in front of me at the hussain chowk showroom. You should've asked me for help as this unit is for 110,000 not 120k. Also the unit is made in china as confirmed that day as anything that says Made by LG Electronics is made in china according to LG and LG distributors in Pakistan. You can confirm this from LG distributor Momin and Innovi.

If the unit is neat from the inside, just go with it.

I have 1.5 ton inverter gree. The outdoor says the model number and refrigerant charge of r410 of 1.3KG.

There was leak in liquid line and it was repaired by gree by soldering.
I then vacuumed the whole A.C. and put in 1.3kg fresh r410 but this A.C started tripping at 1.3 kg.

i put in more gas. at 1.6 KG A.C. compressor was still tripping and then gave H3 code on indoor (Code means low on refrigerant or high). I then saw suction line being warm and discharge melting ice. So I put in gas very slowly until discharge line became normal and suction chilled.

After putting in 2.1 KG R410 in liquid form the AC stopped tripping and amps went upto 7 slowly from 3. But cooling is severely affected from before repair. Amps don't go over 7 amps (they used to go till 10) and at 7 amps ac is not cooling enough for a 190 SQ FT room which is sealed. Ran for 7 hours but amps remained at 4- 5 amps. AC was set at 16 degrees and after 7 hours only brought room temp to 27 degree.

Technician saying compressor head pressure is bad and its a compressor problem as a.c. should not take more than 1.3 kg gas and definitely not 2.1 kg for a 1.5 ton. I took out all gas and repeated. Compressor was tripping at 1.3kg, 1.4kg 1.5kg, 1.6kg 1.7kg 1.8kg and finally at 2.1kg it stopped tripping and suction pressure became 130 psi at 7 amps load.

Please tell me if this is compressor gone bad or some other problem? @Xulfiqar

this is t1 smart compressor. Not T3. Call kenwood helpline number and the only T3 model is KES1820 KES1220.

They call it smart compressor because it can go upto 45-50 C but it is not T3.

Does this mean that LG sold a made in china saying its made in Korea? That means one cannot trust LG outlet

This thread got locked the day I was going to make the decision so I pulled the trigger on LG to "try it out". It was between LG and Thai Mitsu. The reasons I went for LG were:

1. Multiple LG people told me it was Made in Korea - the sales guy Wahab you told me about, LG sales guy at Cavalary and person on LG helpline (0800 154 54). I was concerned because it just said Made by LG Electronics and didn't mention Korea - huge red flag. Really disappointed in LG about the lies!

2. I was told by multiple LG people that only units sold by LG come with official LG card, and that stores at abid market have their own warranty and is Not the official LG warranty.

3. Between this and imported Mitsu, we become concerned about warranty so decided to go with LG.

My experience so far:

1. LG outdoor unit came in a damaged box, when I sent pics to wahab, he said to trust him and that the unit is good. Next day "certified LG' tech opened the outdoor unit and it was dented with bent fins. Now LG is saying they will replace the unit.

2. The certified LG tech didn't even have a vacuum with him to install AC. He basically said that they just release some refrigerant until it comes out the other end and then they close the valve. wtf!

I probably wouldn't be buying another LG again, most likely just go Thai Mitsu and call it a day. A little expensive but at least a reliable and trustworthy product. No advantage in buying from LG.

Sadly, in Pakistan, companies/salesmen are concerned with selling a single unit rather than making a lifelong customer. Btw, how do I show them its made in China? They clearly lied to me by saying its made in Korea.

One more thing I'm concerned about, is refrigerant piping in condenser & evaporator - to me it looks aluminium, Not copper. Can you please confirm? Btw, how is the performance of your unit in extreme Hot, size of room, and max amp draw?

There are different models advertised on LG facebook page with similar specs and features.
Model # US-W186K3A1
Capacity = 18000 BTU
Price = 129,399

Model # I18TGC
Capacity =18000 BTU
Price = 118,199

And then there is another model 187SK3 which is available at Al-Fatah for 92k...

Any idea what is the difference in these three?

I was told 187 is older model. The one I saw at LG center was made in Korea, not sure about Al-Fatah one.

Last night the inner unit of dawlance non inverter was leaking water, the cooling is also reduced.
What could be the issue?
The a.c was started a week ago. Before i cleaned the outer unit at its place with water and just brushed off the dust on the fins of inner unit.

most probably the drain pipe is clogged, try shaking it a little.

2 years ago i was also in the same boat,needed to change 6 acs of the house so had alot to experiment with...
Bought a gree viola in 2016...
Acson 1.6
Daiken 1.8

In the end honestly daiken and acson were the one that came down to low amperes and didn't go beyond max 8.5 to 9 ampere (1.8 tons)and settled down to 3 ampere on 24 degree room temperature. Gree viola is a gimmick with a smaller fan as compared to other models and a design that hampers airflow i use it with the hood open to increase max airflow.it goes to 11 amperes and never settles down as quickly as the othet acs but coolings is great ,it doesn't feel like an inverter and sahi jama ke rakhta hai but it stays at 6 amperes magar thanda karta hai

Guys I installed the new Gree 1.5 ton inverter. It’s a great AC.
Can anybody tell me how to use it’s WiFi feature? And what does it exactly do?

Just called samsung, they quoted 100k for 1.5T inverter. After reading the above posts regarding LG, i am more inclined towards samsung now. I have samsung automatic machine and their products and services are good. Gree also costs around 80k+ so why not samsung.

I think samsung is T1 compressor so will that be okay for Lahore hot summers?

There website says that its T3 cools at even 63 Celsius. I'm getting very sceptical about these all rebranded chinese acs. Why one would have to pay around 60k for 1 Ton just for brand name like kenwood or Gree when We can have options of local made and comparitively better quality inverter ACs.

PEL built quality seems better and mostly shopkeepers are praising a lot about dawlance. Haier has very bad reputation about inverter ACs

Not sure about t1 or t3 but they are equally good, lg t3 model is also very good .Daiken 1.8 ton inverter is 135 in abid market as of yesterday.

I told you i confirmed with both distributors

The shop you bought from (hussain chowk and cavalry) are under momin group. MOMIN group is an official distributor of lg in pakistan and uae.

The other distributor of LG is innovi technologies, they also distribute various other Big brands like panasonic etc.

Only these two distributors can import lg official units. OFFICIAL LG warranty in pakistan is by innovi or momin both are serviced by the 0800 number lg care.

When you say official lg warranty it means. When you call the 0800 lg care number they will send their tech and. Honor their warranty. You have that as long as your unit has a warranty card by either innovi or momin.

This unit i could get you for 110k scratchless. When i visited this lg they brought their units from Abid market trust me and it has the same warranty. The place i got it from Is also lg official shop listed on its authorized brand shops. Shouldve pmed me lol.

Wahab seemed sensible but i also asked you to make Him call His Senior if he said korea lol. The ac is assembled in china.

No official installer except daikin or Acson has vacuum.. You need to contact a private installer or buy your own pump like i have.

Btw this lg is awesome i love it. Best cooling ever with best amps. When i was complaining it was because i was using the cool mode and not lgs artificial intelligence mode. The AI mode is Crazzzzzzyyy coooooooool. Im in love with this baby.

Guys what is this T1 & T3 compressors?

The external drain pipe looks fine. How to shake the pipe which is coming out of the inner unit and is in the wall?? Water is not coming out of the external pipe. Few days back it was draining, but amount was not usually sufficient.
