^^ Completely agree with your assessment. It will only give you saving in moderately hot weather, or when the AC has been running continuously without loadshedding. In 45C temperatures it will consume same energy as a regular AC.

There are some models of inverter ac who have both cooling and heating function so i think such models can be used as heater in winter.do some body used it as heater please share your experience.

That's only useful if you have lots of $$$, because their heating current is higher than cooling current.

I installed about 9 Acson Invertor AC. Running from last 2 years and they are performing well. 1.5 Ton is taking max 6amp. When I turn on it takes 2amp and than slowly goes to 6amp and than come back to 4amp. Same with 1.0 Ton range from 2amp - 4amp.

Also I am using them in winter for heating and it takes only 1amp - 2amp for heating which is much less than normal electric heater (8amp usually).

How much did you pay for the Ascon?

When I bought in 2012 1 ton I paid 65k but in 2013 (April) same went to 75k and 1.5 ton 115k.

I might get one myself this year. The best thing about an inverter AC is that it maintains a constant temperature. In a regular AC the cycling of the compressor on and off creates uncomfortable disparity in room temperature.

Dear can you please tell me if the dealer is capable to do an installation with vacuum pump (purging the line set) or installs it the desi way? How were your 9 ACs installed ? with or without purging the line set?

How was your experiences during load shedding?

I have 25kva genset to run 4-5 convention split AC, I bought and change acson, because when expending I need 5 more noremal AC and due to that I need new genset. But using acson allow me to run 9 ac and other stuff on same 25kva genset. This how it help in load shedding. Also beauty of these AC are they don't put instant load on genset. It starts at 1-2amp and goes up slowly, which allow genset to handle load, in contrast if its normal AC than it instantly put 10-15amp (1.5 ton) load on genset and you cann't start all AC at a time. Dear Sirag, I don't remember, but I know their service is outclass, also they offered me (I don't why, may be I recommended them too much and first customer in Faisalabad for inverter type) free service every year. Best time to get install now a days till end of april, and you can ask vacuum pump way and they will do it. Later they get busy lot, so not sure.

i also had a dawlance inverter type ac installed... my relative who installs acs recommended it... it chills within 10 minutes.. also once its chilled the digital circuit breaker supplied by it shows 0 amps drawn... shows 2-3 amps when starting.. goes to 4 amp max.. then drops to zero when the temp is attained..

0 amp draw means the AC is running without consuming any electricity? It's just a gimmick by the company to sell more ACs and they will be very successful no doubt, because unfortunately we tend to believe in magic more than science.

Even if the compressor completely shuts off, at the very least, the blower motor will still be running and that will consume about 0.25 amp. And the blower motor does not cool the room, it just moves the air.

If you want to know real power draw, put a multimeter on the live wire when the compressor is running.

thats the thing.. 0 amp probably means its drawing less than 1 amp... coz theres no grading in the display.. its 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 upto 20.. no in between.

and it stays that way mostly... the weather at night is pretty good... i keep the temp at 26. lets see this months bill and then we find how much more its costing us.. its installed only this month. just before my wedding.

one can only acknowledge its effectiveness once summer hits hard (july-aug) Because i believe it wont be saving much. Aj kal to AC ki zarurt hi nahi, room temp hardly goes to 20-23 here in ISB. Still considering khi, temp is not high enough which is why its showing 0 most of the time
