Dear All... I wana give you some basic info about Inverters ACs which may help u to decide the brand and products at the time of buying New Units.

First undestand the basic technology, there are two types of technology units available in inverters, one is based on fast cooling hence these units always go to their peak Amperes regardless the temp difference between your set temp and the Room temp and consumes more energy... The second type ACs always increase their ampere based on the temp difference between the set temp and Room temp hence consumes lesser energy but little slower cooling effects.

If u need faster cooling and no issue of the bill amount, go for type-1 but if you are more concerned over the bills, go for type-2..

Type-1 examples are Haier, Dawl

Don't know about type 1 /2. But the air conditioners with bigger indoor and faster blower tend to cool room faster compared to those with slow blower speed and small indoor units.

All Chinese inverter ACs have pathetic cooling curves. One day they may do excellent cooling the very next day they may run their compressor slower and do the cooling slowly even though the indoor / outdoor temperatures were same like previous day.

well technically, every thing is chinese now....

using kenwood 1838s. the AC is connected to meter along with 1 small fridge, and 1 suction motor.

past two months bill was about 230 units per month. cant complain really.

ac is set at 27-28. blower is set at full speed.

This type 1 explanation is incorrect, i have dawlance as well as orient inverters. They do not go full amps unless temperature difference is a lot

These Remotes are of Type-2 Inverters (self defined "Type-1/2" tags, not a standard, just for our understanding).... You can see these units are not having any ECHO feature in it... as its Amperes increase switching is very closed controlled... while Many of the other units are coming with Echo Feature and Fast/Turbo Cooling as Tag lines... which normally goes upto 7-8 Amperes even on 2-3C temperature difference... I installed Haier, TCL Elite series earlier both were Type-1 and returned it back after installation... However currently i have installed Orient Ultron Divine in my Common (which is Type-2) while Orient Jupiter 1.5Ton in another 13*15ft single closed room (which is Type-1). Orient Jupiter has Echo Feature in it.

Basically it is different technological approach of PCB/Programming towards achieving the desired temperature.. T-1 are designed to achieve the set temp. faster and then drop down Amperes gradually while T-2 are more focused towards controlled Temp. increase w.r.t temp. differences.

My common room is a big hall 24*13 ft and alongwith 2-bed Room 12*13 ft each behind it... It is a 2-3 Tons Covered Area where i installed Orient Ulton Divine 1.5Tons... for Comfort cooling (not for a chilled atmosphere) and de-humidifying... being T-2 works fine here due to controlled Ampere increase as per Temp. difference.. I tried to install T-1s before but they always go to higher Amperes and do not drop down in couple of hours as it is difficult to achieve the set temperature in such a big hall.

TCL Miracle series has first time offered a controlled Ampere Setting of the units... i think there are 3-levels.. L1 goes to 6-Ampere, L2 goes to 4/5 Ampere and L3 goes to 3-Ampere Max... in any set and room temp. differences and also provide ease to use on Small generators.... In my opinion, it is very good option towards ampere controlled AC usage....

However all the above remarks/views are given on personal observation and usage experiences. We don't have any booklet or product guide or other data which is defining above T-1 or T-2 design/usage differences in different models....

Ok. I think you are talking about a limiting /generator function. That's a feature which comes in a few inverter models. I read on this thread that LG was the first to introduce this idea, their 1.5 ton variant could be limited to .75 ton, 1 ton etc capacity.

Eco mode is only useful during intensely hot weather. Like when AC would just keep sucking more amperes at noon, you may utilize Eco mode that would decrease power consumption. It's useless when weather is moderate because inverter AC would drop amperes without your intervention.

So far TCL Miracle is best AC in market and highly recommended.
Orient, Kenwood, Dawlance, Pel they all are alike. Even remotes of Orient and kenwood are 100 percent similar.

hows their 1ton . planning to buy one soon so i am incling towards TCL 1 ton...non inverter is not available .

Like in Haier ups model when it detects current is coming from UPS or generator it's limit its power consumption to 400 watts and temp to 26c locked. As I want to install the ac at commercial place and want to use it with solar that why I am asking.

It's good. Got one installed in bedroom. The lowest it went till now is 1.5 A.

I will now buy another one for a large room but this time I will go for TCL Miracle 1.5 ton. The air throw of that AC is superb which means faster cooling. Gen mode is the plus point that no other company is offering at the moment in Pakistan.

Haier needs a UPS device (costs around 7000 rupees)

If you want to run air conditioner on small solar setup than go with TCL miracle. That got builtin generator mode to limit power consumption.

Yes, TCL Miracle is the best option but difference is Haier UPS locks at 2Amps = 440 watts almost while TCL L3 locks 3Amps = 660 watts max... Means you need ro have Solar wattage/unit accordingly....

At 400 - 440 watts, believe me AC cooling would be pathetic. It's better to use fans instead of running air conditioner at that much lower capacity (0.25 - 0.30 tons only) continuously. That UPS mode in Haier is only designed for emergency needs when there is power outage your AC will keep running on UPS until batteries drain out.

Started using TCL inverter heat mode.

Max it went to was 3.4 A.

After achieving set temperature it's power consumption fell down to

1.42 A (1.895 A x 0.75 PF)

326 Watts approx (1.42 A x 230V)

Better than using electric heaters that consume a lot of power but fails to heat the room properly.

problem with these AC/heaters is that they are placed so high up in the room that they struggle to warm it up (hot air rises), its only workable if the room has a very low ceiling.

Using Kenwood 1838 for heating and heating is good but 1 problem is there. Sometimes it turns on and sometimes I had to turn off power switch and then turn on for it to work. Anyone of you facing similar problem?
On and off from remote sometimes don't work.
