So the Kenwood is which D? D1, D2 D3??

The KDC-18S & 12S are D3 units as far as I know. The newer model is what the company claims to be full inverter now I don't exactly know which category does it fall under.

I bought this AC from a friend's shop in Khi.
Total units consumed last night on my 3 phase meter in 24 hours (with 1 AC running for 8.5 hours was 9) prior readings suggested an average of ~7.5 units consumption in 24 hours without the AC. So this Kenwood model is using around 1.5-1.75 units per night for sure with temp set at 24 degrees.
I had a long discussion with someone who has been in the industry for over 25 years, he now provides cooling solutions on industrial and commercial basis. According to him the latest "adventure" by Orient (the 57k inverter) was one of the largest marketing gimmick he had seen. He explained to me In layman terms Iverters can be classified as D5, D4, D3, D2, and D1 categories D5 being the highest with 5 dc components and D1 being the lowest. These current inverters by orient dawlence etc were the lowest category and therefore the lower cost and they sold like hot cakes. In my opinion that's plain fraud. These units will save energy costs but in my opinion not as much as claimed and the quality may also be questionable.
Another friend of mine who bought the same.Kenwood model tested the unit on amp meter. The unit started low, went up till 7.5 amps since his room is on the roof and he tested during the day so room temperature was higher and then settled down to operate in 1.75-3 ampere range.

I bought 2 Kenwood latest DC inverters KDC 1804S for 63k inclusive of installation and removal of existing units. Their other unit KDC-18S was available for 58 but I opted for this one as it is the newest model and claims up to 75% savings (more of a marketing gimmick in my opinion). Tested 1 AC the other night, it operated for 9 hours (9.30 pm till 6.30 am) and consumed ~3 units on the meter (including other appliances) from 9.30 pm till 8.00 am. Room temp was ~30 degrees when I switched it on and set the AC temperature to 24 degrees. In two hours when I checked, room temperature had fallen from 30 to 24 degrees. Did not run the AC last night and took meter readings again, without it the meter consumed approx 1.4 units, so for 9 hour operation the AC consumed between 1.5-1.75 units. The temperature these days are moderate so it'll be interesting to see what it does when it gets really hot in Khi. Btw the reason for such low unit consumption is that I have 2 meters in the house (3 phase and single phase) therefore our load is divided.

Bhai as far as I have understood D5 means 5 major internal components of the AC are direct current (DC), 4D would have 4 of such DC components and so on. If this is not what it is, then kindly correct me. I'm not making any claims, I'm just telling what I've been told, again I'd appreciate if you educate me if I'm wrong.

ok nw u have idea of wat D1, D2, D3 are so plz clear ur view abt Orient it is D3 either itz Invertage Series or Inspire both are D3 and Dawlance is the only Inverter based AC whch is D1 with only DC Compressor dats y itz cheap, i have a thorough discussion wid Haier ppl, Orient ppl and Dawlance ppl about this and they told me this

I think there are 4 electronic components in AC. Control kit, inner blower motor, outer fan motor and compressor. Control kit is always DC, both fan motor combined will consume less than 100 watt which is not much. Its compressor that takes almost 90%of consumption so that should be DC. In my opinion no need to pay a lot more just for DC fan and blower.

Reached at 26.5 while set temp is 26.
As u can see its consuming less then 2 amps so straight 7amp saving if comparing with fixed speed ac.

i m using haier 1.5 inverter from last three wks.AT DAY TIME it starts from 1 amp and then stays at 5 amp for 2-3 mins and then raise amps to 7-8 for 5 to 1o mins and then remain between 4-5 until set temp achvd,then works between 2-3 amps.AFTER SUN SET it starts from 1 amp and never goes beyond 6amps and after set temp achvd it remaid at 1.5 - 2 amps.
i got it in 79k.day time temp out side remains 40-43 and inside rooms its 32-33.room size is 13*15 with 2inch jumbolan roof insulation.

Updateing for info.

Can anyone please tell how to connect the ampere meter with the AC? The one shown in the post above? My AC technician brought an ampere meter with him, and he hanged it around the red wire of the power cable of AC. but the one shown above looks to be different. Where can i get this in lahore and for how much?

Cheapest will be better so now days Kenwood and dawla dawlance are offering cheapest inverter ac, i am using orient prime series.

Go for Gree if you're satisfied with it, it is the best among the ones you've listed, 2nd option could be Kenwood 1804S or the new Haier.

U can get this from any good electric store for 200 rps.
