Isn't the capacitor just the fan capacitor? You can change it in a few minutes if the outer is easily accessible. It will improve the speed of the outers fan

A gree technician was telling me that outer fan of inverter ac no more uses a capacitor and is controlled by a circuit. I doubt that. Even if it is controlled by a circuit, capacitor should be there, no? According to him this used to be in very old acs and no more these days.

Normally outer fan has AC moters and have capacitor like ceiling fans. By the time capacitor become weak and fac becomes slow, compressor overheats in such condition shut itself off

My TCL Miracle 18T3G 1.5T AC (2020 model) is behaving weirdly:
It gives foul smell off and on.
At 27° Cool Mode operation, it trips off for many minutes while giving warm humid air and then after some minutes again starts giving cold air.
I have recently myself serviced the AC.
(It throws very little water through drainage pipe)

It's normal for this AC. My TCL miracle (18TCB) AC does the same when outside temperature is 34C and above (checked myself). At 27C set temperature it will trip for 2 minutes and start back again at 3A. This tripping most often happens when fan speed is set at full. It should not be happening at all but this AC is programmed that way and there is nothing you could do about it. By the way there is nothing wrong with AC sensors.

These days humidity is extremely low in Punjab. So air conditioners hardly drain any water. This is normal too.

Fowl smell is caused by mold growing on indoor unit coils. To fix that run auto-clean function and use mildew function later on.

Edit: just read your newer post. So it seems blower was clogged up too. Your area must have too much dust in air.

If it's DC motor then capacitor is not required.

What is the ideal vent temperature of a 1.5 ton dc inverter when it is running at full amps trying to achieve desired temperature.

When running at full amperes vent temperature should be 8 - 10C.

There are two capacitors one for fan and one for compressor. I have a feeling that my compressor is taking last breaths because whenever it cuts off and slowing down i can feel a bit of vibrations and sound until the compressor comes to complete halt.

if the fan has a dc motor it wont require a capacitor. Not all invertor acs will have a dc fan.

Sharing my experience.
I got TCL miracle last year and I think it's best one in this price range. This year I shifted to upper portion of my house and wanted to get the TCL again although price went up about 10k ~ 15k. But it wasn't available on any stores around so, I got Gree PULAR PLUS. Considering the price difference of TCL and Gree I was expecting exceptional performance but let me tell you they are same in terms of performance. While I'm a bit disappointed in Gree side ways air-flow it's no match with TCL. I like to direct the air flow where I'm sitting in the room and Gree is not efficient in this regards.

Also, Gree flaps are also kind of ugly (this is my opinion you can disagree.)

I know everybody is talking about Gree, my honest opinion TCL is value for money.

Also did you do vacuuming at the time of installation? With proper vacuum pump not the fridge type one

Don't think it appears to be an issue..

Just read online that if the ac vent temperature is 20 degrees less than the room temperature, AC is considered to be working normal..

if the ac is taking to much amperes then I am sure that its the capacitor, happened with my AC, after that I have a spare capacitor lying around in the house.

H5 error code indicates IPM module malfunction.

Circuit board in outdoor unit might need replacement if everything else is fine.

Never checked for TCL miracle. But on TCL elite it was 8C when running at full amperes. Took time to reach that temperature because room was hot that day.

Thermal tripping due to slow fans which could be due to bad or failing capacitor

also check starting caps of compressor ...

else it could just be dying compressor ....check compressor winding via DMM..

what is ambient temp of room ?

vent temp also varies greatly from ambient....

Long story short in April I made complaint on gree helpline and 2 technicians showed up saying that since it is under 3 months of purchase hence they will not charge me visiting charges. They declared that gas is low and charged refrigerant.

this is where they messed it up.........charged but maybe w.o purging gas ...or infact overcharge it.....

why was it even low on gas for 3 month old unit?
