bro jailbreak can be done from ios 6.0-6.1, if you have a factory unlocked phone then its not a problem to update, but in other case you will have to have knowledge about how to unlock it after words

bro, most probably u are having a jevy iphone 4! dont update the software version of ur fon without proper knowledge about preserving the baseband of it, coz if u do so without it you will end up having a permenantly locked iphone! as unlocking price of O2 UK phones is about 12-15k
and about your problem, go to sum cellphone market and get a new gevy for it, i think your gevy has got old now and needs a replacement

yesterday I got a new gevey for my phone which was best available in market (plug and play type, no 112 dialing requirement even on turning phone ON/OFF). it worked fine even i tried by turning my phone off in market. but as soon as I got up in the morning there was no service. I tried my best but all efforts went in vain, even I tried my previous gevey but now that is also nt working.
what should I do now

it depends on wht are you refereing to as simlock! iphone unlocked via ultrasn0w or a factory unlockd fon! or u r just askin about a sim tht has a pascode on

I guess best way to buy gevey is checking at spot. last two when I visited market shopkeeper tested several new geveys (unpacked infront of me) to find one gevey which worked in my phone.

i can get it checkd in some fon here, but i think its still a kinda risk tht if it doesnt work in ur fon! so just take ur fon to the shop u bought ur gevy n ask hm to replace it
