I can source the parts from Canada and if Im not wrong, its the same engine which is used in some other toyota vehicles that we have here in Pakistan. So i didn't think fixing any engine issues would be a problem.
As i mentioned earlier, if i manage to get rid of the Tacoma fever, ill go for the Dmax.

Exactly !!! And sometimes delivering becomes an issue like in pandemic times. But getting something cleared from port is the real job. If you live in Karachi then do visit the port at some time where cars worth millions are standing in poor conditions as their owners couldn’t get them cleared

Why do you need a pickup? Pickups are uncomfortable and the bed is just wasted as mostly we dont load heavy stuff. The rear seats are cramped and they are also expensive. I would always prefer an older prado or LC over a pickup

In Saudi Arabia, these pickups are mostly used for transporting chickens. Here I have seen rich ppl in Karachi driving these uncomfortable cars with family. Strange indeed.

In Pakistan there is a problem of “being choudri/wadera/malik” and showing off similarly.

These people have always seen chicken transporting pickups loaded with guards holding automatic rifles which they assumed is “pomp”

thats for low life blood line, commonly we call know them as yellow blood. That class believe RED blood is commoners below them. They Love to 'impersonate' and pee in their pants when come across nutheads'. Its fun to tackle such class in middle of traffic specially when people pull out smartphones and start making videos. 90% of the time their chimpanzees' riding in tub does not have gun carrying permit (a weapon license does not allow public display) end up in police lockups vehicles impounded.

Believe me a pickup was not my first option. I wouldve bought a troopy or lc76 or even their SWB which Toyota is still making in UAE. I was looking for an AWD with ample space (not these cross suvs) like the VW multivan. Read some where that instead of the transporters, they will now introduce their "cross suvs" like MG and Tucson. Toyota vans are too long nor do they come in AWD or 4x4. Hence the pickup. Lets just say a sudden change in my daily routine requires something that can do a little bit of off roading and has space.

The 76 is good but not great swb models are worse. Whats your budget? Pajeroes are comfy as well as 120 prados. These two are economical alternatives. If you can get something newer even better

6m. I dont want to buy anything older than a 2014 model. Dmax seems to fit in this budget. Comfortable and reasonably ok offroad. Still love the tacoma and the 70 series more though.
