Is it bad to go over speed bumps fast?

I'm not exactly a new driver but I'm not experienced either. I always go slow over speed bumps in my car. Sometimes even shifting in 1st gear to cross them slowly.

It's actually not that big of a problem. Many times I fail to see a speed breaker and end up going over it quickly. But it's better to be safe and go over it slowly.

It is a little car with small tyres. U need to be careful Bhai. Still a couple of jumps won't hurt it but still.

Jo hogaya so hogaya, don't take tension now and relax. Next time make sure you slow down ( even if you need to shift down to 1st gear) depending on the type of speed breaker, pot hole, cat eye etc. The more careful you are the better it will serve you.

Whenever u see the speed bump or pothole or cateye suddenly........Don't push full brakes with tires screeching and going over a bump......if u see such thing suddenly relax and press only clutch and allow the car to pass freely......when brakes are applied along with tires screeching and bump passed....the strut turret has a lot of stress and it could tear apart......but when u pass freely ....ur shock will take the beating.....shocks can be bought for 25000 approx but repairing a turret like original is impossible in Pakistan

minor small jumps or cat eyes doesnt hurt but big jumps are a no i live in cantt area many small jumps and cat eyes my fathers car is 55k driven grande 2016 just got the shock bushes changed now i avoid and cross them 15 20 kms per hour though toyota said its due to the big wheel size i have currently running on 225 50 17s and axio springs as i dont like the fender gap its too much now its about 2 inches drop

Vehicles driving over these do have to significantly slow down or otherwise experience a very jarring bump as they cross over the bumps. If you did that hardly, it might be pressure on front & back suspensions specially shock absorbers, bushes and bearings etc.

So, normally we should slow when passes the speed breaker to save our front suspension. But, in the meantime when we cross front wheels over the bump and press the accelerator and we feel it on back suspension, which is more harmful than the front

So we should go on through with slow/smooth speed until vehicle cross. Except then the SUVs.

Going fast over Speed breakers is not only dangerou but it can be lethal as you can lose control of vehicle going fast but it can cause a tyre to burst at high speed when it comes in contact with speed breaker,with a burst tyre vehicle becomes uncontrollable which can cause a accident. Going over speed breakers at speed causes damage to vehicle suspension when suspension is damaged the vehicle it effect vehicle handling and grip .
