Yar please check the voltage with a voltmeter , the voltage display on chinese u.p.s displays fake voltages , trust me .
The deal is good
But modified sine wave is not good...So dont run any computer appliance on it and keep the load less

I just use for energy savers, INTERNET modems, fans and a laptop charger. (currently running all these on desi ups)

I checked voltages and charging amps tonight with clamp meter, here are the readings:

=> At battery full, the voltage on battery was 13.71v and it seems to be stable there.
=> Under load of 5 tube-lights, the output voltage was 216volts, i turned on a fan and went to 212. The voltage on battery under this load was 12.1 volt. I am not sure what backup will it give but the volts were dropping very slowly.

I switched it back to AC after 5mins and checked the 10 > 20 amps switch. On 10amps, it gave 8.6amps to battery. and on 20amp settings, it gave 18.7amps.

I did not had a hydrometer so i just inspected the battery through the caps. Overall, it looked fine to my (not-so-professional) eyes, there was no black deposits on caps. The battery was not swollen however the plates looked fat a bit, perhaps my viewing angle was not up right? since it was inside the cabinet

I think am gonna go for it since ups looks good, i can change battery if that becomes a problem but the load of my house is far lesser than his so i am pretty sure it will work good at least this summer

Ok voltages seems to be good and to save your battery , keep charging current at 10 Amps setting.

bro isn't that the cut-off voltage? When i reached his place, the battery was charged already

its been a long time since i was into this stuff, but the cutoff voltage should be about 14.5 volts. check your car battery voltage in the morning, that should be your ups battery voltage after it has charged and left for a few hours

If you made up your mind, then cross check the condition of batteries by measuring the specific gravity and looking into the variation in C.G between different cells. If you can find a good electrolyte prepared with distilled water or from pryo chemicals then least I would have performed the light flush and filled with good electrolyte.

Yes, It will easily take a load of four rooms provided you don?t over load it like one bulb and fan from each room only.

Rest, how long it will last will (backup time) depend upon number of batteries connected in parallel. 175 AMP-HR seems good enough but wont go for an hour if all the fans and bulbs are kept on.

I hope you got the point. Used Electronic equipments and batteries don?t have a resale value but if you are buying from a trusted friend then you can go for it.

since its an imported unit so i wont be worried about the charging rate, cutoff voltages even then its a good idea to have a look at the aspects.

like these imported ups recommends an AMP-HR rating of the battery which should be connected as charging rate comes prefixed for recommended AMP-HR ratings.

1Kva is good enough to handle four rooms. I=p/v, 1000/220= 4.54 Amperes. This means if you don’t exceed this limit then your UPS wont trip and 4.54A is a lot of current.

Well it certainly draws more watts from input but if you are running nothing else on this ups, then its most of the times fine.

Why most of the times... because your computer system never draws full amount of 625watts so power supply is mostly operation at far lesser power.

Any more load on ups might make it trip

Thanks talha bro, this morning i went to a near by battery shop and i bought a hydrometer. He assembled it infront of me, i asked him to test it so he tested it using his acid inside drum and the value it showed was 1250. When i reached home, i tried checking a mixture of mine which showed a value of 1170.

While i was doing this, a small piece of rubber (from pink nozzle) went inside the glass tube, so i thought that it might give problems in taking accurate reading i so flushed the hydrometer with water, opened it up, throw out the rubber piece and later assembled it again just as the shopkeeper did. Now i think its not working at all, i tried testing my same mixture again, it gave 1100 value, i tried testing the battery fluid and same results. It seems that the small glass tube inside is not moving at all now.

It moves when i shake it etc but does not come up to give a reading when i suck some fluid.... what might be wrong? its a simple device

Ideally 600/220= 2.73 A
Ceiling fan takes 80 watts

Ceiling fan of good quality is of 80 Watt..........like pak fan, gfc.........local fan 100 to 150 watt load

always measure the S.G once batteries are fully charged. if its showing 1100 then its working but look for a variation between different cells.

Computers consume far lesser power then what you have quoted. But big fat monitors might consume little more but with lcd you are good to go.
We use our computers on UPS all the time, trick is that you need to keep your ups fine tuned and if voltages reaches 225 Volts then you need to shut it down immediately before it drops any further.
That?s is the only factor which can damage your computers. Wall mount voltmeter as shown in image keeps on on alert if output voltage drops below a dangerous level.
