hey there.. Im afraid i've been missing all the thread fun since i started small projects. After completing my Cousin's small Prado CNG Green project that proved to be way economical, I started playing with a friend's cultus which I purchased from him later. I was unable to start the thread for restoration I did to his beat up ride which was an 08 Cultus in a condition I hate to see cars in. But finally the baby has been given life and is in my Garage all fresh and new close to a brand new.
Anyways, Ive been playing with a crank shaft of 86'' Corolla. My question is to Xulfiqar bhai and anyone else who can help. I just got the crank rebuilt to a standard size. But before fitting it, I took some advices from major Mechanical Engineers who have been playing with crank shafts (but mostly deisel 1KD and other Diesel Engines)... They said that rebuilding the crank doesn't make a difference infact it is much safer then grinding the crank and getting it modified with new bearings...
So my question is, is this OK? I'm helping my friend restore an 86 corolla he brought recently. Please advice. O btw Cultus Pics are below..
A+ grade paint used in Restoration work, Engine is still guaranteed not opened and got the engine washed from Inside, Interior cleansing work done at home entirely and the car has been insulated and rebolted again and every crackling noise removed. New suspensions, Rims polished, new tyres, new indicators, bumpers, only painted part involves bonnet side fenders new installed as older were full of puteen (metallic filler) and some after market products in process (o pls teme when we install after market pistons which are of standard size (do they exist in standard size?) (those sports one i donno what u call them), does it increase the stress on shaft?
It took me a month to restore this car as the interior parts took alot of time as i did most of the work in DIY style. I just have one picture which is a day time one but the car was in a worser condition than it looks in the pics before it went for a makeover. The car is 110,000 on the dial but still goes to 130km on Gas and touched 175km/h on petrol after i completed every sort of tune up on it. P.S the new EFI engine does not have self adjusting tappets so guys get ur tappets checked cause tighter valves could be the result of back fire issue which most of these models have (if ur air filter is burning also then that is also the case of back fire)..
