I was just speaking to Guru Ji, yesterday.
In this season of "Long Marches", why doesn't IJC plan a "Short March" of its own? Initially, this was a lighthearted idea I discussed with @samvaid on one of the threads, but the banter got me to thinking that it's quite doable.
As food for thought, perhaps we could choose a suitable area in Rawalpindi (Ayub Park, or Katchery Park, for example) on one of the upcoming Sundays. Everyone (regardless of membership or not) could gather at the appointed time and place, and we could form a convoy and travel to a suitable area in Islamabad (F-9 Park for example. Or Margalla viewpoint, even). There, we could meet up with other enthusiasts, chat, discuss our rides, engage in tomfoolery, and generally spend a good part of the day.
I also suggest that we charge people a token amount (say Rs 500 per vehicle), which would be paid to the IJC Intezamiya on the spot at Islamabad. The gathered amount should go to a charity which we can decide beforehand (e.g., SOS Children's Village, Shaukat Khanum, Edhi Welfare Trust, Chhipa Services, Faiz-e-Aam Orphanage, etc). Khaana peena apna apna ho jaaye.
All we need is a tank full of gas, some willingness to step up, and some decent weather. It'd be a good outing, good fun, and would serve a noble cause as well.
Of course, this is just a very generalised idea, which would be subject to everyone's collective approval. Better ideas or suggestions would be welcome, I think.
Tey fir...kee khiyaal aey, paijaan?
