Islamabad to Multan by Road

Islamabad - Pindi Bhattian - Chiniot - Jhang - Kabirwala - Multan is best route to take
2nd option is Islamabad - Faisalabad - Jhang - Kabirwala - Multan is also good.

From Jhang to Kabirwala, there are 1 or 2 bad patches but not very bad.

If you travel during december, than Faisalabad - Gojra motorway is going to open than
Islamabad - Gojra (Motorway) and Gojra - Jhang - Kabirwala - Multan will be best option

No Clue of its opening date. It was scheduled to open in August but they delayed it till December.

road from jhang to chiniot is not good on one side i mean side of you when traveling from isb to multan
i recommend route isb fsd jhang multan as i always follow this route while going to jhang
you can use pindi bhattian route when coming back to isb as road on this side is clear

Thanks a lot..... we intend to travel in the second week of December, Inshallah. Will use two different routes for return to explore more... How can we know about Faisalabad - Gojra motorway update..when it will be operative in December??

IMO, the best route is islamabad-faisalabad-gojra-toba tek singh-shorkot cantt-shorkot-kabirwala-multan.
U can go on motorway till gojra. Then from there till shorkot, rd is quite ok and usually lesser traffic. Only portion that may bother is shorkot-kabirwala. This cannot be avoided unless u take N5 route, either via lahore or via kamalia-chichawatni

I travelled at the route you mentioned abt 2 weeks go, road from jhang to multan is fine n trouble free.
The only issue with this route is that it is very busy from fsd to jhang plus some patches under construction.

Better option is isd-pindi bhattian- chinoit - jhang - kabirwala - multan.

If the M3 is open beyond fsd then i dont know if that is a better option than chiniot one..

Inshallah, leaving on Friday (Isb-Pindibhatian-chiniot-jhang-kabirwala-multan). Night stay at Multan. Will be back by different route. Can anyone suggest any good place for stay in Multan??

The best route according to distance is Islamabad - Pindi Bhatian - Jhang - Chiniot - Kabirwala - Multan (544 Approx)
The best time is if u travel through Jhang - Chiniot - Kabirwala early in the morning, u'l get the less traffic. It is single road but road is fine...have few bad patches on Jhang - Chiniot section. Im available for any kind of query..

I travel from ISd > fsd > gojra > toba > chicha watni > Khanewal > Multan.

The jhang/Shorkot road is too busy, this route is about 25km longer but less driving stress...

I last travelled on these roads almost 2 years ago. At that time, Shorkot-Jhang road was not in gud condition in comparison to Shorkot-Shorkot cantt-Toba road.
So, i prefered that route. But keep in mind that route is few km longer. esp if u want to get on M-4 from Gojra, then Shorkot-Jhang-M-4 (Gojra) is considerably shorter.

traveled from mirpur mathelo to Islamabad. last month. I prefer multan-kabirwala-shorkot-toba-gojra-motorway. multan jhang route is way too much stressful driving, at least for me.
