This should be enforced by the Excise and Taxation and the police too, In order to remove the car from the dealership premises - you are supposed to put a registration plate on it. Just like everywhere else in the world.

This is a great step - so we dont have these ******* idiotic private dealerships selling brand new cars above retail prices.

Got this Swift DLX this evening, Masha'Allah! Car booked through Suzuki Lahore Motors and got it in 5 weeks. Let me give a break down of the prices for others interested in Swift.
Invoice Rs 10,81,000
Registration Rs 45,695 + 2500 + 2100 (Auction Number)
Insurance Rs 32,135
PakSuzuki has introduced a policy whereby a car booked on cash has to be registered before they allow you to take it out of the showroom.

Mubarik hoo.... Allah naseeb karay.

My question is why you pay 2500 rs????

I also have one in white and after 36000 Kms and 1.5 years loving it like day 1.A treat to drive.

Recommendations for good fuel economy(am getting 13-15 in city; 15-17 on highway):

1. Change the plugs to iridium NGK IFR6J11(if not available Denso IK20).
2. When u change oil change to ZICXQ(its current cost is 3300 but since you can run it for 6000, even 10,000 your cost will be same as lower grade oils).
3. Keep the air filter clean(get it cleaned on every car wash atleast).
   4.Keep the air pressure as recommended(33 in front, 30 in rear).
4. Drive in the RPM range 1500-2500.

Initially in the running in period upto 5000 you may get a lower economy but it will improve afterwards. Cheers.
