Its because there is NO corolla in Japan, and initially it was called corolla axio........ thai version is same as local version so thats why you dont see any....

the Corolla sedan 2006 was the last import i.e last year,then the Axio came along (from this year)

@asifshar sir in January 2013 only cars which are manufactured in 2008 would be allowed to import, so right now its september 10,2012 so if we book/import car now we can get the car in 1st November or maximum time for arrival of 2007 cars would be 15th December 2012 and also negative point would be that we have to pay extra duty atleast 12% on 2008 cars because according to new duty structure all cars will be clear on 2009/01 For further details call me on my cell: 0300-2197670, 0344-2796065.
