N havoline is better than total imo.

sir i think Caltex has been changed to Total in Pakistan and they carry Havoline lube products

Hm first time I'm hearing this. Will check a total pump if they have the oils

sir over the highway we travel several times a week Total pump ( it was caltex pump earlier) have havoline & total quartz lube racks side by side. upon inquiry the information was given that Caltex stopped fuel business and Total has merged with them

it may be different in urban areas. or otherwise.

So today, I decided to end this discussion and went to saddar - Kamran Market, located Al Imran Autos.

I went inside shop and tried speaking to the person sitting on counter, he looked mature and a reasonable person, I talked to him about oil grades, brands, he was persistent that one should only use the grade recommended in car manual, to which I responded, that for once I will go for 5W30, and maybe that will make it easy for me to next time move on to 0W20. So I purchased Liqui Moly 5W30. AP SM/ CF, CN was not available. I wonder why.

I asked for genuine Oil filter as well, please comment from picture if I got the right product.

And I got a discount card and a 2.5% discount on oil purchase

Oil was of Rs 7,700 and after discount it was given at Rs 7,507 and oil filter costed me Rs 800. Further I am told that I can run up to 15k on this oil which I doubt and will further check on that. I have not yet changed the oil, will do in couple of days,

Additionally, I have checked the Air Filter, it seems in good condition, but still I want your valuable opinion about which filter to use as it ranges from Rs 1,600 (Leppon) till Rs 2,200 (Toyota).

So, apparently, three things can enhance engine life as well as performance, Engine oil, Air filter and Oil Filter. I never gave the last two much importance but they have a vital role and equally important.

Further, while having a chit chat, I made a general discussion about the trade and how we have dishonest people and the discussion went on to me admitting that I failed to find a reasonable person (Mechanic),t o which he recommended me Gul Auto Workshop, Qasim Market, Peshawar Rd, Rawalpindi and vouched that he is a fairly honest and a competent person. So passing on the word as told, however, will visit them and will share my experience as well.

Congratulations you bought an obsolete grade mineral oil api sm where api sp grade fully synthetic oils are available on less price than this but its your car your choice.

If at all you had to buy liqui moly, you would have been better off buying it from their company outlet in i8 markaz islamabad but without this 200 discount.

Hmm, as I said earlier, I asked him if this is fully synthetic to which he responded yes. And if it is not that, can you guide me as to how can I put it into an argument, for sure I will return it as I have the receipt with me.

Discount was never an attraction, I just shared that part in good faith, thinking I got a fair product on good rates and I shall share my experience.

copy filter of the oil filter you posted is hard to differentiate
have to trust shopkeeper
and sells for 250 rup in market. i have used copy as my drain interval is short, works fine

For air filter use only Toyota genuine yet it's expensive but it helps to save your precious 1 kr engine.

Second thing is LM is a dinosaur oil desighned for Germans vehicle. So try to get API SN or SN plus 1 kr loves that oil and will run without any problem till 300thousand kms.

So, today, I went back to Al Imran Autos, I asked them that I got the wrong product previously, to which they changed me the oil and gave me what I asked for. Which is LM MolyGen New Generation 5W-30 API SP ILSAC GF - 6A, the 4L can was short in market so they gave me 4 bottles of 1L each at Rs 1700 per bottle.

I still want to learn and want to ask respectable members a few things.

The person at shop and one representative from LM said that, 5W-30 API SM / CF is fully synthetic, where as at shop the person said 5W-30 API SP ILSAC GF - 6A is semi synthetic. Can someone please elaborate the difference in above grades, I need to learn it for my understanding, I will really appreciate your valuable input.
