The good thing about this G-6 Markaz guy was; he was good enough to explain many other factors; as according to him, one should choose tires based on his driving conditions and daily drive.
Tires usually have effective service life from 50,000 Kms to as high as 100,000 Kms / ~ 03 years, whichever comes first. After 03 years, its like bonus.
If one has to frequently travel, may be 30,000 Kms in an year, then for sure, he should go for the tires with 1 lac Kms effective service life. They will be costly but worth it. However, if annual drive is only 15,000 Kms, then tires with 50,000 Kms effective service life will be good enough. Why waste extra money? when rubber will start deteriorating, irrespective of the tires have been used or not?
Then according to him, for paved roads and cities (like our beautiful capital, Islamabad), soft tires can work very fine. But in case of mixed roads or rural driving; medium soft / medium tires may be preferred!
Yokohama in general, and Advan DB V 552 or Blue-Earth series in particular, is an extremely comfortable tire, but at the same time, very soft. It needs extreme care, always maintaining TP and especially taking care of its sidewall, otherwise, it may get easily punctured / busted even with slight driving on unpaved, bad roads. According to him, max. tire burst complaints are regarding Yokohama tires.
He said that Bridgestone and Dunlop are more suitable regarding our road conditions, and they are a balanced blend between paved and unpaved roads & drive comfort. They have less complaints regarding puncture, tire burst, etc.
All had one thing in common: all said that more than 95% of the tires in market are smuggled, without warranty, and all opposed going for 15" alloy rims, as according to them, 15" rims with 15" tires will add extra burden on bushes, suspension, etc. and it will get severe beating and unnecessary overburden.
