If yu want to compare equipment capability then Russian aeronautics biggest hindrance is their ground maintaenence equipment. Extremely bulky, can only be transported by land or sea and no cross compatibility between air craft families. So a servicing base must maintain a set for each type of aircraft in their collection.
On the other side, Chinese design philosophy is highly modular with cross compatibility and detachable components for rapid delivery by air. Its follows a design of common core with pluggable modules so it can universally be used to service any type of aircraft in one family as well highly based on civilian components to evade sanctions which is a positive point for Pakistan.
