Exactly, that is why everyone is looking for shortcuts. We are told by parents "Ye 2 saal mehnat kr lo phir ayashi he". This doesn't happen. There is no shortcut to success. People who want to be successful entrepreneurs, have to work for 70, 80 or 100 hours a week for around 10-15 years to relax in the next 10-15 years, and even then, it is not the way we think. Similar is the case with people who excel in every field. There is a big chunk of our population, whom if you ask what they do, will reply with "Wadday payi Dubai hunday ne (Elder brother works in Dubai)". With a mindset like this, when having money is the end goal, and the sole purpose of one's existence, we are bound to be in the condition we are in. People giving out jobs are not running charities, they will pay you in accordance with the benefit you provide them. We want people/govt to provide us jobs and opportunities just because we exist. There is no concept of self-actualization, of achieving excellence in one's field, of having impact on others. Just a shortcut that can pay us money to cater to our needs so that we can buy a "diggi wali gari", show it off to all the relatives, get married, have kids and die. That is all that we think of, unfortunately. If most of our people suddenly disappear from the universe, the universe won't have any negative consequence, may be something positive comes out of it though. That is the footprint of a lot of the people of our nation on this world. Perhaps that is the mindset of the majority of the Muslim population as a whole, as you see the same thing in the Middle East as well. But I think that is a separate debate altogether.
