:o Oh sealed are good for lows? Didn't knew that I love lows too so I should also consider a sealed enclosure wen I buy a sub .. Ported for this beast L7 will enclosure would be enormous :P.. I think ur truck wouldn't be enough for it.

yes for lows sealed are always way lot better
3ct ft is required for ported excluding the port,thats the minimum size
lows n highs depend on ur sub as well,kicker can play both,most ordianry subs cannot play lows,they can play highs n some subs can play lows only like the alpine type r i used to have

Noted down sir .will look wen buying a sub I was intending to buy cv vmax 12.4 600rms silver top .. But now will buy after a little research and wen I get some more bucks solo baric has its own name in world of spl.. Another class sub..

no,its usually in the trunk,was checking response after changing settings from amp,tats y i put it on the rear seat
though people say it dsnt bang that good on rear seat but i say it bangs even better

not yet bro,the annoying rattling is on high frequency only,not the lows,i usually listen to lows,but yes i really need to damper the trunk

no i do plan to make a ported box of 38hz for it though,i love the lows,cant get this good lows in ported bro

If proper dimensions ported box build for L7,Then it will do "What" that you can't expect it Jz....!
And BTW,for proper lows you need to tuned it @ 30hz...!

Kicker atleast need 5 cu.ft internal volume in ported box,to put out what it is maintained for.....!

And About Type R,than wrong theory Jz......Type R 12" can pick lows and loud frequencies equally good,If put in a proper tuned ported box...!

Type R 15" can also do that and go more into loud and low due to bigger in size....!

Your 15" Type R giving you lows because previously you are using it in sealed enclosure and after that you put it in 30hz ported enclosure....So you expecting to play loud frequencies from it...??

Sealed enclosures having very punchy response as compared to ported...!

A sub in sealed enclosure can go accurate,punchy and soft as compared with ported,but it also depends on sub that it is maintained for sealed or ported ?.....Moreover,A sub in sealed enclosure requires more power from amplifier to perform well!

Thats why Sq setups only have the room for sealed enclosures

type r was meant for LOWS not highs,i had that sub for over a year so i know wt id cud do,
n check the kicker website for the minimum sizes,do ur study first,the minimum is 3 ct ft + the port

wah ji wah.. sir congrats...... and i must say with the wiring refined up, you'd have noticed a huge difference in quality.. i didn't beleive that the difference would be this much untill i tested it myself.. (y)
