engine bay is getting some love from the painter today,and just for the info for some guys,06+ tranny from k-series doesnt work with 02-04 shifter/shifter cables and VSS,theres a detailed thread on k20a.org why not,therefor had to swap the internals of fd2 tranny into my 5speed tranny casing,coupled with 5speed shifter mechanism and also retaining my 5speed VSS.

have already done the swapping of internals etc into the old casing,maybe tomorrow or on saturday car would be back on road again,gear was purchased yesterday and sent via cargo at 7pm in the evening,from that time till 7pm today i had received the gear/got it from airport/brought it to workshop/swapped the internals and also had to do some machine press work and everything was done....in 24hours :eek:

it costed me 2.5k for my 43kg tranny shipped from isloo to karachi

turns out that car would be on hold for a while due to clutch being @#$% up,this is what happens when you are careless about launching the car everywhere you see a empty road ahead but jokes apart,looks like there was a manufacturing defect in this particular set,as it was just driven hardly 1500km when it was bought new,oh well...time to save for a new clutch plate :mad:

while the clutch was on the way,i started another DIY of porting the intake manifold runners and opening.

this greatly helps the breathing of the engine especially when it wants it bad

for this the manifold has to be cut,i had tons of pics but my blackberry took a **** and now i cant get the pics where i had it all prepped up where to cut etc.

heres the pic of the rbc intake mani cut open and how it lookes stock (took it from the net)

now onto the work

always wear safety gear ,for this i needed a pair of gloves and glasses so that the debris doesnt fly into the eyes

the tools needed

stones for grinding/sand paper wheels for polishing (only got pics of sand paper wheels)

polished the 74mm tb opening once again for a good look

the final polishing is yet to take place,which i would work upon in 1-2 days,then would get the mani re-welded back and show some final pics of it done.

the intake runners were port matched to the intake manifold gaskit to ensure smooth flow of air through out the intake ports to the head ports

Port polishing helps a lot, did the same with my D16's intake mani
