Karachi alert (Tints)

Wit a very heavy heart today I've removed my cars tints. It was a very painful and difficult decision but At least now I can cross those check posts like a boss (H)

Met an unfortunate incident today. I was following my colleague's car which was being driven by her driver. We parked our cars on a side to make an urgent callwhen a police mobile came, knocked the colleague's car door, literally dragged the driver out as if he was a terrorist, put him in police car, a police man sat on driver's seat and another at the back and took the car and driver away. When we tried to intervene, we were told that the windows were tinted. Despite assuring that those were freaking detachable curtains, they refused to listen to us. Colleague and I came back to office in my car.
Anyone who has shades or curtains on, please remove them. That's being treated equal to tinted windows.

Thats weird. I thought they weren't stopping cars with shades. We seriously need better police.

you know that is actually illegal. and it gets really interesting when you tie up some media hawks on it. The usual result is the owner of the car ends up in 2 pieces in a gunny bag somewhere on the deserted roads of phase 8

Well i have seen and have been stopped too, But they say take them off and go, As i said earlier as long as you let them check a tinted car tints shouldn't be a problem.

Usually cars with ladies arnt stopped having shades. Probably because of the ethical gap or benefit to female drivers.

PS: Once i have witnesed at Faisal masjid Islamabad, They were pulling over every car with shades and literally throwing them on the road. Cars going over them and they didnt care.

The other day I was given a traffic ticket for fancy no. plate. The police defines any no. plate fancy if its not original. Guess what...i've not been issued the original no. plate and the registration certificate has been stamped with "Original no. plate not issued" whereas temporary one is so poor quality that it got rusted during the last 4 months and you no longer can read the no easily. So i got plastic no. plate in same yellow color and same font as size etc but still got this police guy stopped me. I asked him to give me the ticket instead of arguing with a semi-literate police guy who won't listen to any sane logic that I've not been issued an original no. plate. Its basically the fault of motor vehicle registration authority who couldn't provide me an acceptable quality original no. plate in time but its me who is suffering even after paying all requisite fee and taxes.

I don't understand what's wrong with police stopping a car with tints and not with shades?

Your basically hiding the inside view of your car. The security situation in Pakistan isn't very good and the law states that you shouldn't have them tinted/blocked.

So what's wrong with it? They issued a pre notification and still you blame them. I don't understand how are they wrong

PS: don't come up saying y is the vadera vigo tinted. It is tinted because it is tinted. Nothing can be done unless the common man steps out till then. Vadera can do it you cannot

Haven't removed rear fancy plate? Once you cross them you cross them. Have a fancy one in front then you'll get stopped

Are you sure it was a ticket, not bribe? Because in that case you got mugged.

You should have stayed there and tell them to contact cplc/registration authority and then fine you.

The notification in no way says "We Can't Use Detachable Shades/Blinds".
Please check and correct me if I'm wrong. They mainly stop the cars with shades/blinds for chai pani kharcha.
They are wrong in ever scenario. Why aren't they stopping a govt vehicle with JET BLACK TINTS. Plus arms are also banned. Why do govt officers/MPAS/MNAS/Ministers roam in the city with guards holding guns on Vigo.
I believe tints, dislpay of arms etc is banned for the whole community not just for general public.

would do you think CPLC/MR doesn't know that number plates have not been issued since the past 1 year

Stopping and checking is other thing, but asking chai pani ka kharcha is something else.
Not just me, but many people I know were stopped due to shades and were asked for chai pani ka kharcha. If you refuse they take you with them.
Plus you didn't answered, why just we be stopped with shades and no arms, why not MPAS/MNAS etc.

The law is the law. Almost everybody gets that but the people who implement them dont seem to follow that very same law.
