1. As i mentioned previously you dnt need much, there is cold weather in naran after evening and then you will get cold weather in Babusartop followed by Khunjerab. If you are going to deosai - This is my warning dnt go on that route during moonsoon season, our 3 cars were stuck in middle of nowhere and we were not driving, cars were automatically slipping on the path ways made by other car, We had been convoyed by a pajero and thats how we made it to skardu. For kids you can take extra warm clothes atleast 2 shirts with a heavy coat or sweater, gloves and topa ! For adults a good jacket is enough.
2. Car is a machine it can give a fault in blink of a second, just change the oil, brakes service, tuning, before you leave. Keep battery to battery cables, tow cables, and other important things such as screw drivers, pliers.
try to cross the areas before 8 pm. as it becomes hard for families,

I did 4900 Kilometers, the only issue i faced was due to air filter sensor jis ki jugarh nikal li thi so i used to stop and fix in 2 minutes.. the other two cars were toyota aik ka generator kharab hogaya tha aur dosray ki brakes and gear.
last - Should make car ready for higher road clearance werna neechay se band baj jani hai,
