Kawasaki Trail KE 175 restoration from dead to alive

next and most likely last difficult task was setting up its wiring properly. again I resort to KE175's manual, traced all of its wiring. repaired it handle grips, tachometer and speedo meter. I used Suzuki GP 100's turn signal for rear , new similar small size turn signals for front.

wiring setting was bit confusing but after lots trial and error. I finally set its wiring into proper working.

Things is modified: I use 12v rectifier and all lights and flasher is working on 12v.
Head light: according to wiring manual, headlight should connected direct to battery but I connected head lamp with dynamo coils directly (like Honda's headlamp) but problem is that it lumens very dull, I change headlamp to 6v now it lumens better but not as bright as it have to be.

this KE175 have only 3 issues left to manage
1. clutch plates need to be changed, because at high speed (mostly on 4 & 5th gear) engine rev faster then output speed of bike.
2. need to rewind charging coil to get proper 12v output for brighter headlight.
3. oil pump is pumping air bubble in engine (auto lube), need to check its seals too.

overall the bike is now in 'mazay-dar' condition.

Really happy to have seen this Bike on the Road.
infact not only on the Road rather Happy to have see you come all the way to Faisalabad and then Back to Lahore on the bike, its like 300 KM and the bike is all good.

NEW UPDATE.

all the engine blocks are repainted completely, and engine is resting in steel tray beside engine block.

it's front forks were repaired too according to instructions manual, all the work was completely done by hands with the help of my brother Ishaq

in second pic, a cup of tea can replace engine , after pouring a cup (mug instead) of tea milage got better, that means I can work for couple of more hours on my bike

Brother I just driven it only 600km, engine is reopened because i also wanted it to looks cool cosmetic wise too.
as far as 2 stroke engines are concern, only its top end need to be checked after 4000/5000 kms. And i've seen some 2 stroke owners they clean their piston and head after every 1000 km.

most of engine parts were with the bike already, but some of them are rebuilt i.e. kick start assembly & Gear shift shaft, some of them are compromised i.e. piston, carburetor, head light and some electronics parts.

Thanks so much for the info. I was involved with a friend in restoring his DR125 and it was relatively easy to find parts (GS carb, clutch plates) while other parts like domed piston was a pain in the a** to find. Ive recently been looking at Yamaha DTs and the only thing which stops me is the engine rebuilding

pain in the a** engine parts are also easy to find. search for those who are selling "relevant" bike and contact them, they must have some parts available with them or they give you good contacts, may give you best advise on how to compromise with missing parts or what best replacements are available.
