bhai what i heard abt that plant was that they (Pak - China) used to make bricks there, but in heating process the bricks usually got cracked n left ones got cracked within 2, 3 months 
. they tried their best to overcome that fault but couldn't:( all their efforts reamined in vain might be some prob with soil:( so the last option they had to stop making bricks n close the project

u can visit Gilgit throughout the year
if u want to visit the whole area till khunjerab then from May to September r the suitable months n august, september r the best suitable months to visit :D:D
