LoL!! the beauty of the landscape kept me going. there were no dull moments in the 1600 km ride. the chilas to raikot patch was was a big pain, though. My suspension is set up for "road only" use. maybe it would have been better on an adventure bike with dual sports tires.
After i returned home, i immediately took my children to the park .. where we played for some time. whats waiting at the destination is a great source of motivation.
I did not do anything silly or dangerous throughout the trip. i drove as per the dictates of the road and traffic conditions. Only at two patches i crossed 150 kmph but the roads were empty, the tarmac was smooth and they were long straight patches. Absolutely loved it.
by the way, I am 42 years old.... not young by any standards. I had been wanting to do this route for a while. i could only squeeze these days to make it happen before Babusar Pass closes for the winter.
