Khyber - Performance after Complete Engine Overhaul

You dont need this battery in a khyber, the original small 40 ah battery is more than enough.

The usual problem in this car are worn out/poor fusible links on battery positive and poor ground cable too.

Very easy to rectify with good parts which are easily available. Original SGP battery clamps are available but need a crimper to fold on new wire, visit some proper oldschool shops who make control cables or commercial grade electricians who own hydraulic crimper to make those cables.

It will be a true 25 yr fix.

Fan is direct. Even then car needle soon after start Goes to 40% even in this cold temperature of Karachi

Thats bcoz thermostat valve is in place probably.

I think temperature sending unit is new but Chinese so might be not working properly

You are right. Usage wise there is no change between the previous small and this big size battery.
Actually the head light of my car changes its brightness with accelerator, what can be the issue? The old high resistance wires? I checked the voltages of alternator with DMM and they were fine. Between 13.5 to 14.5 depending upon the load.

Your speedometer is faulty, remove it and reseat the needle so it rests on zero,

When it rest on zero, it shows more speed during the drive. 20 Kmph difference. That is why I installed it this way.

These Suzuki gauges are not accurate. Just give you an idea when some thing is abnormal. The Temperature Sending Unit of this car costs between 100 to 200 PKR. Better search for some famous brand

You need to visit a gauge repair shop, they will retension the clockspring on the gauge pulley to make it read nearly accurate.

Hi,
I am facing issue regarding engine oil reduction Just 2300 km drove my car with complete rebuilt engine had leakage in oil pan before which was fixed but still it is reducing Premio 10-40 Synthetic Oil about half quarter in 1500 km.No smoke whatsoever from exhaust pipe.At tappet cover there is oil and air filter box breather pipe leaks oil also lit bit.If anyone have an idea about this oil reduction let me know please.

Your PCV valve is faulty.
Kindly replace it and also check other engine seals, tappet seals, plug seals

Compression Test

Compression test of my Khyber is conducted today. Please tell how is the condition of my car's engine. These are dry test readings. Car was on CNG (if that matters). Pick and top speed of my car is not good. Already changed the plug wires, ignition coil and sparking plugs.

Wet test was only conducted on cylinder 3.

Have you done compression test from Shop or DIY? If from outside, how much it costed you?

Why you have done wet test only on Cylinder number 3 and not on others?

Got it done from D Motor Sports G-13 Islamabad for Rs.500/-
Since the dry test readings of all the three cylinders are almost same, so conducted wet test on one cylinder only.

But many websites suggesting that compression above 125 PSI is considered fine and one should worry if the compression is near 100 PSI.

In user manual it states compression should be 199psi. And low line is 150 psi less than this is a problem and difference between cylinders should not exceed 10psi.

My Khyber's issue is resolved.
After careful examination, the mechanic said that valve seats are a little worn, so he adjusted the tappets accordingly and then readjusted the timing belt as well. Car is running fine on petrol as well as on CNG. No pick up issue.
