I think it should last year i did quite ample reasearch to install cruise.
Our picanto model is a nearly like the 2017 model of Australian picanto… we are just assembling it!!
So there is a good chance ecu will support!

If speedometer showes the sign of cruise it will work!

Finally got most of the buttons to work including lights! They look amazing at night.

Sourcing
These buttons are available from many vendors on Ali Express. While sourcing I faced two main issues:

1. Not all vendors are equal, read reviews and ratings. The first vendor I ordered from cancelled the order and sent me a refund which never hit my account.
2. The second vendor I ordered from sent me everything but the wiring harness was bad/wrong. More on this later.

Installation

• Wiring Harness
  The clips on the harness and the quality of the clips was perfectly fine. No issues. However the harness lacked the correct number of wires. It came with 6. Needed 2 more. Also the locations in the connector where the wires were inserted were wrong/different than required. So the entire wiring harness had to be modified. More wires needed to be added and existing ones needed to be relocated in the connector to get everything to work.

• Button installation
  Quality of both left and right side buttons is good. They look amazing at night when you turn on the lights. They are easy to fit but the steering needs to be removed completely and opened from the back to insert and tighten them from the front. They fit very well.

• Clockspring
  I tried to use the OEM clockspring but it lacked the required number of pins. Had to replace it with an aftermarket locally available clockspring. This clockspring had to be modified considerably. The plastic at the back had to be cut and adjusted so that it would fit properly. Moreover the air bag pin had to be changed so that it would fit the airbag. This was, to me, the most painful and irritating part of the whole process. I tried to source the clockspring from Ali Express but I could not find one with 2.2 turns which are in the OEM clock spring. The one I found had 2.0 turns.

Yes you will need to change it. I could not get the multimedia buttons to work with OEM clock spring.

Update March 2022. The aftermarket clockspring I purchased started creating problems. This was because I had to remove some of the plastic bits from the back of the clockspring to make it fit. It had started vibrating. I sourced another clockspring from eBay UK.

This one fit perfectly without having to make any adjustments. It had the required number of pins. However the pin configuration for this one was different so I had to redo the wiring harness and remap the pins. However it was a much faster job this time. Took about 90 mins.
