No everything was fine when I sold it @ 30k. It's the problem of Suzuki cars, before cultus I had mehran which also had shivering especially when idle and upon ignition. Also my colleague's cultus also has that. Maybe u are not understanding what I mean by 'light' shivering or you might have not noticed it in ur car yet.

This price would be somewhat digestible if Kia had launched the 3rd gen of Picanto. But for what is essentially an almost decade old car, NO thank you.
PS will breathe a sigh of relief, their Cultus is safe for now.

Didn't we expect it around same for a very long time ago?
KIA will not plant their vehicle under Suzuki products.. they have a point that their vehicle is better than Cultus and it would cost more. Yes as consumer we want a cheaper and better car but it does not happen in real life.. if we do a reverse math, taking into account the exchange rate, the pricing seems in line with Picanto sold overseas. I mean bare bone base Picanto is around 9900 GBP [ the current generation] the price didn't change much and was same for 2nd generation.. just doing rough math make it like 1.8Million PKR today for base model.

As I always say, KIA , Hyundai or for that matter any new company is not coming here for charity.. we have a very small market.. less sales and these companies have alot of overhead being a brand new company. I will not be surprised when Sportage AWD will be 6.5 Million in near future

My problem is not with them selling a Picanto at 2 Mn, my problem is with them selling a globally discontinued Picanto at 2 Mn.
What's their logic behind launching the older gen, if not price? I would really like to know.

Well.. I will again not be surprised that they will join the existing cartel. Also, we will see the sportage in production for a longer time with respect to international.. the new genertaion Sportage is a year away and I think KIA Pakistan will not just ditch the current Sportage assembly line within 2 years of production.. it will continue until they make some return on it. No matter how good the sportage is, our market buying power as well as market itself is not that big and I don't think KIA will sell more than 3000 units a year , so it will live longer here.

I think KIA should have went with a sedan but again KIA and Hyundai will not compete each other and Hyundai took segment by bringing Elantra. Again in that case Elantra is near end production of current generation so lets see what Hyundai brings

They will earn from Picanto and less from Sportage
Plus I believe they should bring in Cerato after a year or so...

They will not bring Cerato to compete their own sister company Hyundai Elantra in our market initially. Yes they will Tucson but that segment is small so a competition will not hurt one another interests in case of Sportage.

In other words Hyundai and Kia will not overlap in same segment.. we might see a Accent sedan in City, Vios/yaris segment.. again it's all my opinion

Yes. You are right!

Brother, auction grade 4.5 and above are good, and will always be good IN SHA ALLAH, however, a brand new car has its own charm.

If you can wait (which i will strongly recommend), then go for brand new Picanto, otherwise, you can go for any JDM... Any time...
