Their pricing is idiotic yet again, even by their own standards.

Let's assume KIA can potentially launch the AWD Sportage Hybrid at the same price point as Hyundai Tuscon. The new Sorento is still a PKR 1.5 million jump and that's only the 3.5L V6. In most places, baseline Sorento Hybrid is about $1500-$2000 more than the top spec Sportage Hybrid.

Realistic prices for Sorento Hybrid FWD should've been around PKR 13 million max. PKR 14 million for the AWD.

Btw, while the current Santa Fe we have is indeed the older generation, it is still the same platform as the new Sorento.

• 2020 - KIA Sorento (4th Gen)
• 2020 - Hyundai Santa Fe (4th Gen Facelift - this launched in Pakistan)
• 2023 - KIA Sorento (4th Gen Facelift - this launched in Pakistan)
• 2023 - Hyundai Santa Fe (5th Gen - still based on the same platform as above)

5th gen KIA Sorento is expected in 2026 btw.

I don't understand why people are pissed off here at the forum whereas on fb people are loving it. I feel like they priced it fine and people comparing it with OLD gen santa fe are quite idiotic. This is the latest shape and FL.

Nobody’s praising the pricing. Don’t confuse marketing tactics or some fanboy claims as genuine buyers . Why not see the fate of this Sorento again in 6 months? Will be terrible at current pricing.

Also yes it’s a fact this crossover cannot compete with fortuner . Nowhere else in the world it competes with it . Same mistake Lucky did when Sorento was first launched trying to compare with a fortuner .

Like the person above said, the hybrid variant cannot be priced more than $2-3k above the Sportage L hybrid.

Obstinacy at its peak. The Sportage climb-down was less than a month ago and yet here Lucky is having another go at it, which is going to result in another debacle before 2025 is out.

Their pricing team seems to be either too disconnected with their market or over estimating their product. Either way, brand KIA Lucky Motors is losing value as every new launch is getting incorrectly higher priced.

The initial buyers of Sportage L ended up paying too much. Will people be willing to buy this Sorento at this current price after that debacle....lets see. I will be waiting it out.

May be LMC has priced Sorento unreasonably high to make Sportage L look cheaper now. Their strategy seems to somehow sell Sportage L not the Sorento at the moment. Prices of Sorento may rationalize in a matter of time. A few units of this newly launched car will sell or as many as the new shape Sportage sold at the launch price. Fingers crossed.

On road price is 79. You're still off by 21 lac. Exaggeration bhi thori soch samajh k karta hai banda. And while I'm not justifying even 79 lac, as someone else mentioned above, it's still the cheapest zero-meter sedan you can get.

That's a good point and I think that's the reason KIA has ridiculously priced this Sorento. Otherwise how can anyone justify the price difference between Sportage AWD top of the line and Sorento AWD top of the line? KIA Sportage L HEV with 1.6 turbo engine is priced at Rs 11 Mn and Sorento HEV with exact same 1.6 Turbo engine at 16 Mn! There is no change in specs and features even. One can argue that Sorento is a 7 seater and has a bigger body, but does only this 1 change justify 50 lacs more price?

On one hand you do get a bigger body in Sorento, but that would also mean that it will be sluggish and less fuel efficient as compared to drive quality of Sportage as the same engine is running them. Price difference of less than 3 Mn between the 2 AWD models would have been justified, also if Sorento had a better engine or power. But this KIA pricing strategy of 5 Mn difference is only intended to make Sportage look like bargain at 11 Mn and help its sales. It's quite evident that KIA isn't looking to even try to sell Sorento.

The 3.5 V6 is in such an awkward position. The hybrid should be top spec only. Keeping the V6 as a base model is absurd. Kia hasn't done this strategy anywhere in the world.

Ain’t nobody paying more than 1.3 mil for the top spec hybrid Sorento.

Not more than 10mil for the base variant.

Anything higher means the same fate as old sorento / new Sportage L (pre price drop).
