My cousin decided not to go for the Sportage, even though he has the budget for it, simply due to the (overwhelming) posts online about negligent dealerships, warranty claim issues, manufacturing faults, expensive parts and high maintenance costs.
Yaar, I don't know how many here will agree, and if you do not, maybe Allah has blessed you with enough resources (and may He continue to bless us all, ameen), but most people budgeting for a Grande, stretch it with difficulty to a Sportage, like my cousin, not because it's a 'Shashka', but because a sedan is just a sedan, it's boring, no matter how reliably it's built.
Last thing needed is anxiety when driving (kahin kuch toot he na jaye), hassles in case of manufacturing costs, or high cost of maintenance. When one cannot enjoy their purchase, what's the point? Utility to Yaris bhi puri kar deti hai.
Hoping to sell his Grande down the line when a better alternative to Sportage come in our local market, or hopefully when KLM has local pipeline of parts and have toned down maintenance costs.
