I don't expect new shape Sportage here until after we see 11th gen Civic and 12th gen Corolla. 2023 at the earliest in my opinion. Sportage sales are still doing well meanwhile so Lucky will cash that as long as they can. The new gen Sportage will require significant investment on their part.

Alhumdolilah,

Took delivery of my Sportage FWD last Saturday. Upgraded from Civic X. My very initial feedback after driving it for 70KM.

Built quality - Super
Breaks - will take time to get used to it
Suspension - I find Civic's suspension better (like on cat eyes, didn't felt much on civic with stock tires but there is stiffness on Sportage)
Sound System - Way better than Civic's
Power - Sports mode is super responsive. Normal mode is bearable. Eco mode - big no on daily traffic commute as it may take ages to react
Customer Service - excellent

Overall Drive: i will rate 8/10

Badly missing front camera for parking - neither i find any after market (a decent one)

Definitely needs a front camera or at least front parking sensors, let me know if you find something. Parking can be an issue due to visibility.

Kia Sportage has been very lucky in the Pakistani market. Having driven both the main competitors Tucson and MG, I can definitely say that they are much more appealing options but due to the shortage of Tucson and the crazy price hike of MG, Sportage is once again the most reliable one out of the three.

The rest of the competitors in the market will still take a lot of time in my opinion to gain the customer's trust. Haval has a good presence on the road but I still won't buy it due to a totally unfamiliar name in the market.

1 Maasoomaana sawaal to all the Sportage owners: How one can use the Key that is inside the remote? I mean if the remote's battery dies down and the vehicle wouldn't open, how do you open it, as there's no keyhole, or if I've missed it, kindly let me know.

Hi All.. I got my Sportage Alpha on 1st Dec and have driven it for 2 weeks - 800 kms now.

I had 2017 Civic Oriel and a 2018 Grande in the past. Drove both those cars for 2 years each.

Purchase Decision: Initially i wanted to get a 2021 Grande as i personally find Corrolla more comfortable than Civic for Pakistani roads. Meanwhile i started seeing lot of Sportages on the roads and realized it has now become a "Market kee gaari" in Pakistan which will have no issues in spare parts availability and resale later. Tucson was not an option as their bookings were closed. Proton X 70 delivery time was more than a year. MG looked nice but had Hi Octane issue so that helped narrow my choice down. I initially went to book KIA FWD but the delivery time for FWD was 2/3 months longer than Alpha and I needed a car asap so went for Alpha variant.

Price: Alpha was 4.5 lac pricier than Grande / Oriel at the time. KIA priced it brilliantly to entice the potential customers of Oriel / Grande who want something new and fresh to experience.

PROS: Excellent build quality , Noise insulation with much quieter cabin than sedans, Higher elevation on the road, Very comfortable ride, comes with better tyres so no need to replace tyres. Good blue tooth quality for clear calls. Better seats,

For me the best thing is the comfortable ride. I do not care about too many features personally as i am not a tachy person myself. (lane assist , ambient lighting , Collison control etc). The value in comfort that i got by adding 4.5 lac to Grande was more than what I had expected.

CON: The biggest CON of KIA is high cost for simple routine maintenance . I have heard people talk about the higher cost for a simple OIL change / air filter and Oil filter and the allied Labor charges with these simple services. Compared with Honda and Toyota it is definitely very high. KIA needs to review these charges. Add to it the cost of parts if needed will def hurt KIA consumers in the long run.

Mileage: I get mileage of 10.5 in city with normal PSO fuel driving on Normal Mode.

Conclusions: Happy & satisfied with it. For someone who is contemplating CIVIC ORIEL or GRANDE it provides a great choice to add some more $$ and go for it instead.

Can u elaborate .. first time I'm hearing Civic's suspension is softer than a Sportage.. ie you feel more bumps in Sportage than a Civic..

People say that Sportage has softer Susp. than even a Corolla.

i got a call from the dealership for diff payment today. if i pay it tomorrow i'll get the car in 14 days max(atleast that's what they said) which i highly doubt.

I drive a 18 model Civic which is on Euros then you can say its stiffer but i recently got a Sportage which is 414kms driven and has a much softer suspension then a Civic in my opinion

I also got a call yesterday from the dealership to pay the difference amount. Saying I can get the car within this month. My delivery month is Jan 2022.

Agreed with all of this. The price difference is not that much from top level sedans (Grande/Civic) but the difference in comfort is amazing. Nice high ride position and extremely soft and comfortable suspension. I like the tyres as well. Recently had to go to Lahore, went via motorway and returned by GT road due to fog, and despite GT road being a pain to drive on, I was very comfortable in the Sportage and barely got tired.

How was the fuel consumption on motorway and GT road?

Motorway I got around 10.5. But my average speed was around 140. On GT road it was around 11. My car is still within the first 1000 km though, I expect it to improve after the first oil change. I think on motorway at 120 I should expect to get 12-13.

That is good news. Do confirm with your dealership when the invoice for your vehicle will be generated. All pay orders from dealerships are sent to Lucky Motors around 16th of every month. That would mean your invoice could be generated in a few days' time. Once the invoice is generated, then you are immune from any prospective increase in Government taxes, including FED, which might be increased in the upcoming mini budget.

Ill visit the dealership today. The guy who called me said that your vehicle is ready for delivery back in karachi, once you’ll pay the diff amount they’ll load your vehicle. And thanks for the advice I’ll ask him about the invoice today. Fingers crossed.

Brother I got mine within 5 days after paying the difference. Just keep following them. FYI I got my car on 7th Dec.
