Tucson: No More.
All credit to the staff of the Hyundai Nishat Motors at different dealerships who are least bothered about the customer services. None of the workshops are even half equipped and still looking for good mechanics and helpers. To me, this is a clear indication of how the Hyundai will handle the after sales of their vehicles which is of utmost importance. But again, this is just my opinion/reservation .
So, Cancelled my booking for February 2021 delivery and now going for Sportage.
Since I am not in the Fan Club of Tucson anymore, I can share a little bit more of my observations which led to my final decision. I visited Hyundai and KIA showrooms thrice in last two weeks to compare the two vehicles in details. Believe me, pictures are just misleading. Only a physical inspection of both vehicles and that too more than once can make you a better judge.
I am now fully convinced that the interior of Sportage is far far better in build quality, ambiance and ease of access than Tucson.
I was so much attracted to the exterior of Tucson that I was not even willing to pay attention to the flaws of interior.
The all black gearbox area made of low quality plastic, an ordinary gear knob, not so good looking center console (especially if you are sitting on rear seats, view of the gearbox/center console area is really a put off), quality and styling of steering, finishing of control buttons on door handles doesn't even come close to Sportage and last but not the least, the much hyped up Chinese infotainment system.
Why should one sacrifice front and rear parking sensors, rain sensors, OEM infotainment system with Apple carplay and android auto, one hundred percent Korean parts/fixtures, auto defogger, rear fog light, better leather and to top it all an established network of dealerships/workshops.
