I believe, for first oil change, all labor and service charges are free. You must be only charged with product cost (like Oil and filters)

So what i heard from ppl that those who are not following KIA's recommended services plan and skipping it, later in case of any warranty claim, KIA is not facilitating it with excuse that schedule and recommended maintenance was not followed.

What i have learnt that regardless of KMs in odo, it is recommended to change oil after every 3 months.
Even Honda does the same for my civic.

It says "5000KM or 3 months, which ever happens earlier."

Same is recommended by KIA as well

First of all, many congratulations. Happy and safe driving.

For average, i am getting 10+ in full city traffic with AC (3 months old and 2500 KM driven). I believe it depends on the way you are driving and the route.

As per my experience, If the drive is mostly with turns, constant stops and speed bumps, it wont get anything above 8. Any long run will improve the avg. Keep driving and dont trust the avg shown on MID.

For other stuff, i have kept it all original. Just using Maguires Ultimate wax and turtle interior polish. Giving the perfect shine. Keep it simple and easy to maintain in longer run. What i have learnt, all these coating requires special care. Depending upon your car color, use and your habit of maintaining, you may consider applying PPF.

i read at a facebook page where the KIA sportage owner wrote that he was denied AC evaporator warranty claim due to excuse that you have skipped due/periodical brake service from dealership

My mileage is around 6.3 in city with AC (eco mode). I don't drive rashly (but small roads, speed breakers etc)

My sportage awd gives 9km in traffic with ac in lahore with eco mod, it now at 1500km. I am driving it to murree tomorrow and hop going to be above 10km/L.

What I have learned over years that's its costs alot of extra time and money if you want to have extra shine on your car.

I personally just get it simple wash and turtle polish oncs a month. I do have k2 washer that I use to clean acs outdoors at home.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I've purchased FWD on OWN. Paid 3.5 lacs OWN + 2 lacs adv tax. 53.13 lacs was the invoice of feb 2022.

Aoa everyone. My father's planning on replacing his 2018 Oriel Civic with a Sportage primarily due to comfort issues and since he's a bit old, he needs something that's easy on the back. His heart's settled on the Sportage and he took me to he KIA centre today to check out the 3 available options: Alpha, FWD & AWD.

While being a complete novice on the cars front, I have checked em out in person, read up a bit online on em and the FWD seems to be the most feasible option for him but i was hoping if folks here can share their experiences with all three options? Also, just a few queries:

1. Is it worth it to go for the AWD option if he doesn't travel to the northern areas or goes off-roading? Traveling may be a possibility in the future but it's not a common practice for him

2. Between AWD and FWD, there's a 5 lakh difference & specs-wise there's not much of a difference besides the sun/moon roof (1 inch smaller rims, no back sensor, no e-break or stability control for Alpha, etc.); would it make sense to go for the alpha to save on costs? I imagine FWD would have the better resale prospects given that model has the highest wait time for current orders albeit that's not much of a priority; just a factor to consider

3. For those of you who've driven Sportage for a while, what are a few key things you've observed that you wished you'd been aware/mindful of earlier? Anything that made you glad you went for the particular model you opted for?

4. At this point, would you recommend the MG option? My father's a bit against it since he's heard quite a few negative reviews from his friends while I'm a bit out of the loop on that front; I have seen plenty of MG cars on the roads recently though

5. I've heard quite a bit about it but what exactly is OWN? If we go for the AWD/FWD, should this OWN option be pursued given there's a high probably that prices will go up again in the next few months (due to the mid-year delivery dates)? Plus, since next year's budget will be announced in July i don't expect prices to decline anytime soon

1) The only feature I like in AWD is the electronic tailgate and auto seat adjustment
Particularly because my beloved mother and I drive the car so adjusting the seat is free of hassle
Also the lumbar support is also quite helpful for my mother
And I dont think tht lumbar support is there in FWD
2) I haven’t experienced my car in northern areas yet but have read alot of reviews saying that AWD performs outclass in northern areas and previously when literally every car was slipping in snow
AWD did not
3) TBH im more of a sedan guy and like to drive sedan and even shifted from grande
The things I miss are the acceleration
Paddle shifters and some other features
The car is great but some things are missing like auto lock on 20kmp/h
Infotainment is very basic but does the job for me
Front camera should’ve been also there
Brakes are not good if you are specially shifting from civic which has outclass brakes and I can assure you that
You willneed to push the pedal down more than civic or grande to get it going
Not underpowered but struggles to pickup
4) I also considered MG but at that time and even still now
I opted for KIA because it had better aftermarket sales and services
It had been the most successful and thus the best resale value
MG also used high octane and the average was also not impressive
5) i will definitely recommend you to get your car on “ON”
Prices are increasing day by day and they will make sure they deliver your car late so that they may inject price increase injection
Conclusion
If your father will drive it mainly then definitely buy it but if only you will drive i suggest you stick to sedans and enjoy as youngsters these days love civic and grande and so Do I

And I don't think that lumbar support is there in FWD

I have FWD and it has Lumbar support.

The main differences between the FWD and AWD variants are as follows:

1. AWD has the auto tailgate while the FWD has the manual one.

2. FWD don't have the power seat adjustment that AWD has.

3. AWD has the alloy rim for the spare wheel as well, while the FWD has the steel rim for the spare wheel.

4. AWD has the premium leather interior while the FWD has the Premium Fabric interior.

5. AWD has the Front and the back parking sensors, while the FWD has the parking sensors just at the back.

6. Lastly, AWD has an all-wheel-drive system which the FWD doesn't have.

Other than the above-mentioned differences, there is NOT any other difference between the two variants according to my research.
While opting for FWD, I did research about it and I came to the conclusion that if you have to use it on normal roads, you don't need to go for AWD and however, AWD performs slightly better in the hilly areas, this doesn't mean that FWD fails you there, I have seen FWDs reaching Deosai or Naran/Kaghan without any problem.
Infact, I have experienced two advantages of having FWD, one of them is having a better fuel consumption in comparison to AWD and slightly better acceleration than AWD.

The rest is your choice.

Awd;

It may offer you a bit more traction on muddy and ice conditions.

But it’s not at all for off-roading. Sportage isn’t overall.

In true snow conditions Awd won’t be of much use anyway, you need snow tires or snow chains.

FWD seems like a good option as it also has more resale.

On motorway its pretty good around 11 and max I achieved was 11.3
