I understand your concerns about resale value, especially with new models expected next year and the Oxhan X7 getting attention. In Pakistan, car prices generally hold up well long term, even after new launches.
Selling now, just a few months after purchase, will result in a serious loss (Rs 1.3 million down the drain!) due to early depreciation, so there's no strong reason to sell. But if you wait a couple of years the loss will reduce or you might even break even. For example, I recently sold my 1.6-year-old Honda City at the same price I bought it, though it was around 15% or 900k below the current invoice price for a new one. Also consider if would you rather take a Rs 1.3 million loss now or, at worst case, the same loss 1.5 years later after enjoying the car?
With the new Sportage expected to launch at Rs 10 to 12+ million depending on the variant, the higher price will support your car's resale value too. Sportageās demand and reliability should work in your favour as well.
For now, enjoy the ride and let the Pakistani car market do its magic.
