The Dollar seems to look stable.... i would advise you to wait for Tucson and then decide.... do not hurry..... There must be competitor to compare by seeing and testing physically. Imo

Khurram bhai Dollar may be stable for now but iski break 175 k aas paas lagni ha coz of the poor deal niazi made...
And checked about Tucson... its not coming before 2nd Quarter 2020

Price is the main temptation:
Sportage 46
Turbo 44
Vitara 43
Vezel 40-41 (low mileage car) 2018 FL will hit 45+

So in these Sportage is clear winner

Well the only competitors of Sportage currently are Vezel, juke and Vitara, and i am not being a purist.
I personally find Vitara to be better than all of the above in terms of price, handling and comfort. From a practical stand point i believe in waiting for a couple of years before buying a new model or newly launched car so that car manufacturer can optimise their vehicle in response to market feedback. I bought V2 after 3yrs of its launch and i switched to Civic X in its 3rd year as well and it has worked pretty well for me, so going by that policy i will go for Vitara if i have to pick one crossover/ SUV kinda car.
Rio and Picanto will be launched but one after the other and by end if this year.
I am not very optimistic for future of Hyundai keeping in view their current policy, because they have announced high end cars like Santa Fe, ioniq, tucson and a sedan (possibly elantra) but who knows they might adjust to the market.

Actually we do have a Vitara 2017. And i also checked the recent FL as it was priced at 40.90.... last weekend when Sportage started their booking, Suzuki ppl revised the prices ( after budget paased) and increased the price to 42.95... Since i was mostly thinking of getting a Vezel with 4.0 mil price bracket, Vitara FL looked a good option as it addressed almost all the points i disliked about it in pre-FL. But having said that its still no where near the Sportage in terms of interior and exterior aswell...
So when Sportage revealed prices then it didn’t make much sense at 43 Vs 46 for Sportage and we all know that mostly ppl were not expecting these starting prices...

Vitara Hungary Assembled 1600cc Japanese Brand, available since last 3 years and is road tested for Pakistan road (Value for Money)
Vezel Japan Assembled 1500cc Hybrid "JAPAN USED" (Fuel Economy) but many owner complain not achieving avg more than 13-15km/l , while ICE 1500cc engine dont go more than 12km/l
Sportage , local assembled with 2000cc engine (For those who want change of look/shape) or may be (Support Local Industry) buy Made in Pakistan ..

I took test drive of both Grand Carnival and Sportage in June last year, tbh both are beasts having 6 speed triptronic gearboxes.

Take a test drive and you will fell in love with it, specially if you drive Carnival you will forget you are driving a minivan as its 3.3 V6.

Sportage having 2.0L engine 6 speed gearbox and features like cruise control etc. is a complete package for a family driving in cities and motorways mostly and occasional trips to North.

Well tbh Sportage is not a beast in terms of acceleration. I drove it last month and found it below Grande and Civic in pick up. It is only 154hp so don't expect wonders from it. Same 2.0 engine with Turbo could have changed the story.

Why on earth are u comparing a Sedan with Crossover/CUV ??
Yes 2.0 Turbo engine pumps out 240hp and surely a powerful machine... but problem is with our fuel... everyone knows what happened with Civic Turbo...
So why a new entrant would risk to start with a turbo engine...
KIA has played smart... 1. Giving bundle load of features 2. Competitive pricing
May be once they establish themselves they might consider it...
So far i would say 5 stars for KIA
