Good analysis Fazal Bhai, but I would like to draw a different comparison; its with FAW V2 (its quite simple and no technicalities involved):
In 2017, I had a China assembled FAW V2, and was returning to Islamabad via Kashmir Highway. In that times, construction activities related to expansion of Kashmir Highway and making retaining walls, were in progress, and road condition at some places was very bad. Pot holes out of no where, were common.
I was driving around 80-90 (or may be 100~110 kmph speed, I cannot recall the exact figure atm, but for sure, it was very high), and suddenly, I badly hit a pot hole, and it came out of no where. The impact was may be for a fraction of second, but was severe, and was on right side of the car.
I immediately thought that either rims will have hugely bent (if not broken or chipped OFF), or at least, tyre is definitely gonna blow or get damaged beyond repair. Luckily, nothing happened to the tyres and alloy rims both.
I went to FAW I-9 Islamabad dealership next day and they thoroughly checked for any hit impact etc. but nothing was damaged, other than slight bending of one suspension part (I think it was just right lower control arm on front side, nothing else), which they repaired, and car again worked like a charm (No doubt, despite bending, there was no feeling of any hit impact / malfunction, or misaligned / imbalanced wheels).
I mentioned all these details, that if FAW V2 can bear all this, then Kia Sportage should perform much much better.
