And in S gear, what does it actually do lol?? I know its a ******* super noob question but yeah, really need answer.. Plus there is " ODO" written on meter... What does it mean?? How can i turn off over drive???

It can feel heavy due to many reasons. Which oil are you using? And have you ever changed its catalytic converter?
Just pour in high octane 3-4 times you will feel hell of a difference plus knocking will disappear.
Lastly, vitz is love . it's the best hatchback. People here have no idea how to maintain and they think that it's another cultus or mehran.

Yup it definetely is the best ride seriously... Bro never got catalytic converter changed... Once a mechanic told me that the reason of heavy move and low acceleration is the catalytic converter pores are blocked bcz of carbon.. So needs to get cleaned but in order to do that, car's check light be on then for like forever so i did not take a chance.. What u say, should i get it changed?? If yeah, what will be the price and any good and trusted mechanic contact number in Lahore, pindi or islamabad?? Will be grateful if u guide me brother... I lv vitz more than any corolla or honda car... I got it just bcz i loved it... I had a choice to buy corolla and city but i preferred vitz..

No problem bro. S gear is secondary gear...it's used in hilly areas to climb higher surfaces. The car's RPM is higher and gives more torque to do so.
Odo is basically your actual mileage. Like how much the car has travelled. And CVT cars don't have over drive mode.

Instead of cleaning or breaking it's much better you get a new one from scrap market like Bilal gunj in Lahore.
Obviously it will be a bit used but will enhance your pick and fuel efficiency.
I also changed mine from Bilal gunj for 6k ... It's readily available there.

A plug with heat range of 6 will be considered one level colder. (talking about NGK here) Denso's equivalent to HR 5 is 16 and 6 is 20.for e.g. IK16 , IK20.

Hotter plugs can cause pre detonation as they get real hot and resulting in auto and premature ignition of the mixture. Using Hi-Octane fuel prevents pre detonation due to its more stable chemical structure but it is just one leg of the problem. The other leg is spark plugs getting too hot causing pre detonation. Switch to cheap copper which are one notch colder and drive around to see if there is any improvement.

Can you read the exact model number from the box ?

I am not a mechanic but I've read about spark plugs and tried this trick on friend's and family's JDMs. So far it has worked like a charm.
Honda's OEM specification is HR6 or 20 (ngk,denso). If coppers work for you, you can later replace them with iridiums but good copper should last about 20k

No , spark plugs...

I recommend replacing the plugs before taking apart the cat. If plugs don't solve your problem, they are about 6-800 rupees, you can keep them as spare for gift them to a friend.

Any thing hotter will def cause a crazy knock. Mechanic here install whatever fits. Thats why asking the poster to check the model number on spark plug box.

You need nothing and don't go to any stupid mechanic.
I have vitz 2006 which is 160k driven now. The only solution to knocking is high octane nothing else. There is nothing wrong with your car, people will come up with their own theories so don't fall for anyone.
I too was facing this knocking crap. I topped up my car 3-4 time with high octane 100% ( no mixtures with regular petrol ) and drove the car till reserve. And during this time I drove in S gear at high rpms at intervals. After all this process the car is knock free now. It runs like a champ and still with AC gives me 13km/l

Which engine oil are you using in your Vitz 2006 with 160k mileage? Toyota dealership here are recommending 20w50 for a 130k driven 2009 model vitz.
