After having tea in the afternoon, I said good bye to Ayaz Khan. In the small bazaar of Matiltan, there was no passenger vehicle coming to Kalam at that time, so I hired a car and we headed for Kalam. I told the driver to go slow, so that I can capture the evening shades of the valley along the way.

It's pleasure to get to know so much about Matiltan's insight. I knew it's beautiful since I just had its drive-through views while visiting mahodand last year but now i feel i have actually seen Matiltan through your photography.

Sir! Can I stay with family at baghiha hotel? Any idea about night rent, cleanliness, washrooms?

Dear Saeed sir, actually Matiltan is much more beautiful. You must visit it.

People do stay here with family, There is no particular security issue, though rooms are small, cleanliness is not up to the mark, room has attached washroom but that just fills the purpose, owner Ayaz is a nice person. You can ask him about these issues, he will take care.

Today (06-09-14) I was to go to Mingora in the evening, but I was free in the morning. So, I decided to visit Khurkhari lake, It is beyond Gabral on Atror Gabral road and is an easy short track.

Me and Rahmat gul started early on Atror road after break fast.

This is view towards Kalam from the first bridge.

It takes about three hours to the last village before the Lake where road ends. Condition of the jeep road is bad at places, but mostly it is plain area, with valley open and vast through out presenting a great landscape. We continue to see small habitations even after Gabral, this area is well populated.
