Seaside p beth k khaaney ka apna maza hai...aur buffet hai all u can eat..being a lahori that should attract u there as well..

Google do darya or Kolachi, phase 8. All the restaurants are right next to each other. You can't go wrong

I suggest book Hotel Sarawan opposite Atrium mall, it is central location of Karachi,

Yara i want to stay either in defence phase 2 or north nazimabad.

I travelled on HYD khi superhighway on 20th of this month. Road is not that bad compared to KHI HYD.
Detail are :
HYD khi : there are 3 diversions altogether, 2 kms each(approx). One can drive up to 30 kms without straining the suspensions. On the other hand rest of the highway is newly built with 3 lanes and no police so one cover the time lost. It took us 2 hours from one toll plaza to the other.
Khi HYD: This is a real pain. There are 7 diversions altogether, 3-4 kms each. Only the 4th one is comparatively better where one can drive up to 30 40 kmph. On rest of the diversions you cannot go above 15kmph without damaging your car's suspension. It took us 3hrs 15 mins altogether.

Chicken malai handi of tandoori hut boat basin.
Nihari of nihari inn boatbasin.
Prawn tempura of Rangoli .. Arena.its buffet..
Shan e mughlia buffet at millennium mall johar.

Hermain hotel saddar will be ideal due to locality..fare will be 4000 around.
Avari tower is also great..they have a weekend package of 13000 ..for two days
Go search for avari option on net

train is much better option than coach r bus,,, of course airline is bestest choice if you can afford....

i used to go karachi ,,,mostly stayed at capri inn guest house muhammad ali society ,, not bad though peace full environment ,,,
and their branch in defence too...

do darya is best ,,, you can taste king size kolachi special prawns filled with cheese... specially go at night ,,
javed nihari is good at water pump fedral area...
pak dahi bally at burn road ,,
pakeza rabri
fish ktakat at hussainabad .
as per my opinion high way is not good for family....
there are lots of more options there...

enjoy late night sitting at chae shae dha...

My dad came from Hala to Lahore yesterday. He left at 4:45am and reached Lahore at 8:15pm, stopped one hour for lunch and a few toilet stops maybe. When he does the return trip later this week I will update you with the route used and the time.
