Day 4 - Trekking Day 3
After breakfast, we packed our bags and started to trek back. Our plan was to reach directly to Tarshing from Latbo in the same day, the distance we had covered in two days was now to be covered in just one. We knew it was a long trek but it felt somewhat easier because most of the part was descending. Also, God had blessed us with clear weather which made the last day very different from the first two. Because of dense clouds and snow falls, we had no idea how the valley looked in clear skies. It was definitely a treat for us. The sunlight had made the weather less severe and we were able to enjoy the surroundings in a newer way.
Arslan Bhai was leading from the front by setting an example that all of us could walk slowly but steadily. His strategy was working and he was ahead of the whole team throughout the day. Although he was not walking fast but it was the steadiness and consistency in his footwork which was regularly causing an increase in the distance between him and the rest of us. Me, Janu, and Muqeet were one unit and one of us was in front and other two were following his footsteps. We would often switch places because making way for others and setting the pace of the whole unit is a pleasing yet highly responsible task. Jamshed and Usman were one unit and they were behind everyone else. Jamshed had taken up the responsibility to make sure Usman reaches back safely and he stays motivated.
Our first mission was to cross the Rupal Wall again to reach Herlingkoffer. I was somewhat terrified and amazed to see how big Nanga Parbat was and it could be seen from everywhere throughout the trek when weather was clear. From the top of the Rupal Wall, the view was amazing;
Here is a video we made of the view of Nanga Parbat in winters from the top of Rupal Wall. Enjoy and Share!
