Nicely maintained. Mashallah. is it a 1.3 or a 1.6. The engines last very long on these if cared for. My father has a 91 Lancer with its Original Engine Never opened although he has kept changing all the fluids, Belts and other relevant objects at the required intervals and the engine is still smokeless.

Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy a Lancer, been in love with this car and quite a stalker. I need suggestion however, in terms of parts availability and maintenance. I live in Rawalpindi. Plus which one is better 1.3 Manual or 1.6 Manual in terms of consumption??

fuel consumption is 9-11 in city depends upon engine condition and 13-14 on highways. parts are available in all major cities like Rawalpindi, Isb, Peshawar, Lahore, Multan and Karachi. other than these it will be difficult for you to find parts.

parts of Lancer are very very rare in Karachi. i have never owned this car but once had discussion with vendors in Shershah. they told me that very few vendors import Mitsubishi and Nissan stuff and its kind of monopoly as they sell things at price of Gold. and again, it all depends if that particular part is available or not. this is my info w.r.t actual market.

same situation is in all major cities. just few ppl have parts New & used and yes they are little bit expensive than Toyota and Honda

I have 1.6 GLX SR with CVT. Gives 10.5 km/l in city with AC and 11.5-12.5 without AC. On motorway it gives about 14.5-16.0 km/l. Obviously, 1.6 is more fun. Common parts such as air filter, oil filter, etc. available from Dewan Karachi. Other less common parts....let's say some suspension bushes, tail light grommets, etc. won't be available and will need to be imported through some importer. Good kabali stuff also available locally but supplier will need to be verified.

I dont find that to be true. Fender is 4k without any negotiation. Other than run of the mill items cost more or less same. For example two genuine mitsubishi brake pad qualities one for 5k and one for 8-9k pair, the cheaper one is actually akebono one of the best brake pad manufacturers out there. Air filter is a bit expensive but its going to be original or you can buy the leppon crap. Interchangeability between 4g13,15,18 lancers of parts and what not.

Dear Ali Siddiqui,

I am facing the issue of missing while accelerating the car, I don't know what is the reason. Few months back it was annoying. The pick of car was totally killed for a second. IT was heat-up and changed the engine gas kit.,Now termowall was removed and was good for a month but now again facing the missing issue (jatkay layti hay while driving).
Some one told me that Lancer has the problem of cranks and that damage gaskit.
Some one says it is coil issue. I checked on scanner there is no engine error code. but the Electrician told me that your coil are short circuited and also change the throttle body.

Please guide me if you know about this.

@zahahmad bhai there are no issues with the engine mechanics make up this bullshit to cover their incapability to repair it. and what in the world has the Crank shaft has to do with the Gaskit?

Does you car heat up or not?

Bhai if the ignition coils are short it can do that. it is common with every car that if the ignition coils are short cars will jerk due to fluctuation in the Spark. Throttle body needs to be serviced and also check all the vaccum hoses for leaks. Also keep in mind if the tappets were properly adjusted? Also check the HT leads and injectors.!

Also kindly use a good quality coolant with a T-Stat Valve and Auto Fan (Basic Factory Settings).

@omersiddqui5482, Yes dear my car was heated up few months back (September 2018).

Ok i will install T-stat valve and fan is already auto.

Please guide me that can i use kabli coils or the one available is Pinid Saddar but that is not Japaneses (Denso) That is Italian or some other but are packed and cost is 17K to 20K.

The problem is ignition coil. Original ones are above 20k easily. Kabuli bought for 6k lasted me an year before they went bad and then I had to buy brand new ones. Dubai say order karlo if you have someone coming that's the best way to get original at the price of the oem copy. Throttle body needs nothing but a service, but I would suggest change the coil and don't touch the throttle body till you isolate issue.

If the gasket was replaced, keep checking the radiator for oil. The headbolts were not changed when you replace the gasket and neither were they torqued down to factory spec and procedure this I can bet.

Bhai it depends. Here in Karachi both kabli and new coils are available. But if the kabli is genuine and in good condition and. You can install them they can work for quite a good time..

@deltree is right usually mechanics don't even know what is the torque rating on the head bolts and usually tight them just on hunch which later cause problem. In the head and cylinder channels etc.

what exactly could be issue with TTY bolts if they are tightened by mechanic although they are not usable? same case in Liana too.
