Did you find blind spot free / wide coverage side mirrors ?

No, I didn’t. In fact, the Chinese side mirrors I have are quite poor. They don’t provide a clear rear view, and they constantly shake/vibrate while the car is moving. The smaller round mirrors I’ve attached to the larger ones do offer a proper panoramic view, but since they’re small, I really have to focus on them to see properly.

I just acquired a 96 Prado KJZ-77 and it came with stupid narrow view mirrors. I can hardly see a bike in the mirror & an approaching car shows like a half cut car. I am planning to install Mini Pajero side mirrors, they are blind spot free & available very cheap.

I believe these are simple flat mirrors. I need R1400 or some other with wide view.

After a lot of back and forth, I finally made the switch from manual to automatic! Loved driving the manual on my recent Phunder Valley and Chitral adventure, but using it daily was turning into a full-on leg workout—my knees weren’t having it. Got my hands on an auto transmission from Shershah market and swapped it here in Karachi. So far, it’s been smooth sailing! Fingers crossed, it stays that way.

Did you only change the transmission? Or transfer case + diffs also needed to be changed ?

How much did this project cost ?

Just swapped the transmission—didn’t have to change the transfer case or diffs, The project involved getting the auto gearbox along with its wiring, buying a new center console, and adjusting the drive shafts. Thankfully, the ECU was already compatible with both manual and auto, so no changes were needed there. The whole thing cost me around 4 lacs, including sourcing the parts from Shershah and the swap labor in Karachi. Totally worth it—plus, my knee is so happy now!

Good to know that swap well & you liked the outcome. Any difference you felt in top speed, difference in engine RPM at particular speeds ?

What did you do with the manual gearbox ? Kept or trade in ?
