This is correct because the controlled transmissions require engine parameter input from the ECU, on a lift there would be max vacuum in the manifold (low load) while the engine is runnig and the trans is too, hence the service procedure is defined.

older ones just shifted up on speed.

trans shifting to 3 or higher while coasting in low speed is normal, its to give you a comfortable ride. Your shift rpms are quite high for 20% throttle, at 20% the transmission should immediately do the 1-2 shift at about 10 or 15 km/h below 2000 rpm and all other following gears should be shifting at about 2000 to 2200 rpm.

Seems like your speed governor is sticking.

Speed governor is inside the transmission and relays vehicle speed to the valve body which causes upshift and downshift.

in a full hydraulic transmission like yours the shift points are set by the balance between the oil pressure control of the throttle valve lever and the governor output pressure. Here is seems like the governor ouput pressure is a little high causing late shift with jerk.

my car has hard shocks in the first and second shifts and some late shifting as well... a mech diagnosed it as "cable phans rahi hai" ... now i understand what he was talking about

Then it means u have to inspect your shift solenoids according to the website i mean.

no. if i come to know the actual issue then atleast i can address it to mechanic and will ask him to check according to my instructions rather than opening all the things..

i have 2003 civic prosmatic and is shifting the gears at 3500 rpm.....what should i do to solve this issue... ihave done the comuterized scanning of my car but it is telling alot of things which costs alot....so what else should i do to solve this issue in reasonable price..... the D light is also blinking ....i hve checkd the gear oil its full......what i do to solve the gear shifting problem plzzz helppppp...........

you might need to provide information on what things (codes) you are receiving.

first have the VSS changed... the codes are there for a reason: to indicate an oncoming disaster

i have honda civic 2003 Vti prosmatic with cng installed. i got its full gas kit cleaned from a cng work shop. the problem now is its idle rpm on gas its not stable goes down and engine shuts down. Even during running sometime engine turn off. Mileage is 180k and changed oil also from 10w30 to 20w40 Havoline. Need suggestions what to do.
