not "S"

Since it's a JDM, it is a MR-S and not a MR-2.
In UK and USA, it is known as MR-2.

no dude, mr-s & mr-2 are different!
the one in my pic is an mr-s which has a spoiler, crystal lights, maroon interior, bumpers with fogs and a few other goodies whereas the mr-2 roadster has simple smoked lights, simple bumpers, black interior & no spoiler etc!

this blue one is an mr-2

btw @immad, the previous owner of that beemer now has an lc 200! mc-7

Like i said, the one in the pic is also MR-S. To prove my initial argument, here is Wikipedia link:

Plus, the one in the pic has an MR-S emblem on its tail. USDM and UKDM are known as JDM. The features you quoted to distinguish between MR-S and MR-2 are optional features. And they are not meant for MR-S only.

I am not making up anything, all you need to know is there in the link. Also, i can quote many other links from various forums which support my stance.
About ur old MR-S, there can be many reasons behind it being an authentic MR-S considering tht it was a UK import. But speculation on them is futile.
All the info on difference between MR-2 and MR-S is in front of you in link. Let me know if you need any more links.
btw, ur MR-S might have been a JDM imported from UK. Whereas, ur cousin's MR-2 might have been a UKDM.

That's actually the face lifted 2010 onwards S Class. They've changed the tail lights now.
