but for me both are very good brands in 1.3 , 1.6 & 1.8 category but sad locally they did not produce any good 1000cc car for that I'm thankful to hyundai.

Dear its very simple.....
Toyota is the World Leader in automobile manufacturer.
Lexus and scion are parts of Toyota.
Honda is the World Leader in motorcycle manufacturer.
Worldwide
Toyota Engine technology, reliability, performance is better than Honda.

Toyota vehicle are less comfortable but high reliability(Long life).

Speed wise Honda is good due to lite body

Power wise Toyota is best

Local
Both toyota and honda are manufactured locally which are not good.
But comfortabilty vote goes to Honda and reliable is toyota.
So Why ppl tick Honda on forum,voting and discussion
In pak you will see toyota every where. many ppl using it in a very cheap manner and also use in crime. Mostly politician of our countries use it which are fake degree holder (mostly).
And the shape of corolla making ppl boring.
These factors spoil toyota name.
It is because Honda has its own standard, repo i.e its vehicles are mostly used in in good manner. It is mostly seen in urban areas.
Conclusion
So toyota as compared to Honda is better in many aspects but some factor spoil toyota`s name.

Some facts:
Honda makes very good engines but only till V6.
Toyota have wide range of engines.V6,V8,V10,V12 and trd modified 4 cylinder ones.
Toyota has a super car ,honda has none
Toyota has a car named century which is comparable to likes of Maybach and Rolls Royce.
Toyota has a luxury sedan Lexus LS and Crown which are comparable to S class And 7 Series.
When you talk about honda , Civic and Accord comes to mind
When you talk about Toyota , Corolla,Camry,Landcruiser 200,Prado,Prius,Vitz,Mark X comes to Mind and many other of them.
Toyota has most fuel efficient car across the globe:Prius.
Toyota is world biggest R&D spender.
Honda build honda jet.

Just want to make some correction here. Honda never won any constructor or driver championship EVER. Honda has had the poorest record amongst high profile teams and it never even came in the top 3 constructors. Equally bad has been the performance of Toyota. Hence both Japanese teams have failed miserably in Formula 1 and were forced to pull out of F1 due to embarrassment and losses

But Toyota used the engine from Yamaha in FI and other top of the line expensive runs --- and even the engine in LFA the Lexus top of the line engine in Toyota --- is made by Yamaha

Being winner of 3 races over a period of 5+ years is not an achievement from ANY point of view. Let me also tell you that Toyota has had more POINTS in F1 compared to Honda which highlights consistent performance instead of lucky jackpot wins. If you follow F1 then you should know then Minardi, the team with the lowest budget and slowest car also once won Australian Grand Prix. As I said, winning 1/2 races over a decade is no big deal. What matters is that Honda couldn't succeed in F1, was embarrassed and then had to leave F1 because it couldn't compete with other teams, including Toyota. Toyota also left F1 but much later than Honda.

My overall point is that these Japanese companies have achieved nothing in F1 so lets not quote them here

The only thing I conveyed as being a citizen of Third World Country was "Honda has won an F1 race". And you do have an idea what it takes to WIN a race.
Toyota may have scored good points by securing pole positions but there are no points for second place!
