So i got the front brake calipers changed last week. With same size callipers . they costed me 2400. Now car is quiet from front as old callipers were making hell of noise on uneven roads. Brake has improved alot as well. Now the next project is to swap the gear box as the current one has humming sound in it and it just ticks me off. No issues in shifting of gear though but that sound on high speed around 100 is very annoying. Any idea of gear box price? Ive been quoted prices of 11ks for singapore gearbox and 14ks for original kabli one by the same guy from whom i bought the callipers. And about callipers, they were in prestine condition, the nuts were opened first time at the time of installation.

10K for super condition Kabli transmission with warranty. If you want to keep your transmission and only change the internal gears and bearings then cost will be 8k. Plus 2500 fitting charges.

No i want to change complete gear, not just the internals. 10k for a guaranteed gearbox is a good bet. Ill get it from lahore then,ill contact you safwan bhai when i have plan to visit lahore.

Can 1.3 Liana Manual transmission be swapped with 1.6 Automatic version's transmission? How much would it cost me in total inclusive on Labour and materials?

For transmission conversion from mannual to auto,i guess ecu would also need to be changed along with internal gear lever and all thay. This will cost you at least 50ks. But its just a guess let some one chime in who has done it already.

okay If I keep it manual, is there any way else I can get taller gear ratio in 5th gear? Perhaps swap a manual transmission from a 1.6?
I actually want the car RPM to stay under or near 3K when on highway at speed of 120 KM/hr. My current setup does 3K RPM in 5th gear at speed of 100 KM/hr.

3k rpm on 100 speed is still ok, my car stays around 3.2 on 100 on motorway, ive checked, it dosnt hurt economy as such

there is fuse in the internal fuse box for ABS just check that.

Get a new/kabli catalytic converter. Don't just get rid of it. It is important for overall efficiency of your car as car doesn't produce harmful emission gases with it.

It's not about economy its abt running engine hot for extended intervals of time. On higway I would prefer running car running in 3k rpm for 3 hours rather than 4k rpm

This is how the car was designed , engineers mustve put some thoughts before making it, innit?

Don't sweat it. M13A can run at 4k rpm for as many hours as you want it to go without any significant wear and tear if you're running a proper oil and cooling system is good and strong. If you're having too frequent long distance travels then go for bigger tyres.

Finally, just installed the new dashboard cover and brand new gear knob.
