shair bano shair. People's memories are short lived. This was the "Government" who imposed retrospective "luxury tax" from year 2005 when they came into power in 2008 on so called "luxury" vehicles. This was the government back in 1999 when a Suzuki Mehran was a novelty. People who now change their Toyota Corollas every year; could just dream about "luxury" vehicles like Corolla in 1999. There was a "luxury tax" on even a Toyota Corolla 2.0D in 1999. History repeats itself. I think the same era is coming again. So be prepared for many many extra taxes on your "luxury" vehicles like Corolla, City and Civics as well. Life time token should be at best an optional thing. A country where your life is not guaranteed for next 10 years how come you can pay your tax for 10 years. Similar is the case with load shedding. I am hopeful this government will reduce or even eliminate load shedding. But don't ask how they will do it. They will do it not by extra generation or new power plants but by eliminating the load. They are going to make electricity so expensive that nobody will afford "luxuries" like airconditioners etc. so there will be less demand and no load shedding. All the "shairs" will be happy then.

Agree with you! This could be just starting from smaller cars. God knows what other taxes may be imposed on "luxury" cars like Rolla, Civic, City

Good for PakSuzuki. Good time to invest in PS shares (if someone has some savings left by now.) Mehran is going to re-take the title of "bestseller" from "luxury" Cows.

Dear All,
There is currently a mass scandal in Excise Taxation Office Motor Registration Branch Gujranwala in Life Time Token Tax which is still hidden /uncaptured by media by ETO Authorities.
Some of the staff members of Gujranwala Excise & Taxation Office who were deputed on Life Time Token tax counters have received amounts from customers for life time tokens & in return they provide customers registration books with Life Time Token Paid Duly Stamped/Signatured by Mr Ahsan Bilal D.E.O. Motor Registration Authority Gujranwala .
But later when some customers approached ETO Office to change ownership. Department refused to transfer the vehicles by saying that due to an internal Fraud in Department by some staff members, we have not received these Amounts & Stamps & signatures on Registration Books were false & customers have to pay again for Life Time Token Tax to transfer their vehicles. This is very embarrassing as customers have to repay for Life Time Token Tax .Customers are very annoyed due to this situation as this is not customer fault & they have paid their dues at Govt Counters.
I request all who have get their Life Time Token Paid at Gujranwala ETO Office, to checked & verified their Life Time Token paid Status because scandal amount seems to be in Millions as I have heard.
I also request to please share this to all your Friends/Relatives/Social Media/Print Media especially in Gujranwala so that issue can be highlighted & resolved.
In last I will request Chief Justice Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the issue and provide assistance for customer satisfaction.

Today i got my life time token so you can calculate your token tax amount as follows:

If your car token tax is Rs. 540 then
X= 10000 - (540*total years tax already paid)

Life time Token (Rs)= X+7500+200

7500 is Income Tax and 200 is professional Tax

this is confirm. i got a challan in may 2012 while my token was going to expire in june 2012. all 1000cc cars must pay life time token. in may i paid 10000-5000(already paid)=5000(life time token) and got stamped on book and received life time sticker. car is cuore 2005 lahore no. they told me that now i never have to pay anything. but it was before budget. previously if life time token was paid there was no need to go and pay income tax. don't know that whether now we will have to go and pay income tax still with life time token.
